According to Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo isn’t simply interested in growing in numbers.

Miyamoto was speaking about the company’s approach to movies and other videos. In order to enter that space, Nintendo began “considering what we could do together with people creating videos around the world.” Rather than simply growing so that it does everything internally, the company decided to partner with others – such as Illumination on The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the upcoming film based on Super Mario Galaxy.

Miyamoto said the following during an investor Q&A today:

Could a game other than Mario Kart take the crown as the best-selling game on a Nintendo platform? Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario and The Legend of Zelda, has weighed in.

On Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is by far the best seller at almost 70 million – Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the next closest at nearly 50 million. It now looks like we could see something similar with Mario Kart World as it has sold over 9.5 million copies with Nintendo Switch 2 itself at an install base of just over 10 million.

Although Nintendo is prioritizing games for Switch 2 and making games for that platforms, it will continue to support Switch 1.

We already heard that Nintendo Switch hardware will continue to be produced. As for actual games though, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed that the system will continue to receive games.

Furukawa said the following during the Q&A session of a financial results briefing today:

Atari 50 Namco Legendary Pack DLC

More support is happening for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, and today, brand new Namco Legendary Pack DLC was revealed.

We have the latest news about One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, including the Future Island Egghead Pack and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release date.

The upcoming DLC is bringing along three more characters. Rob Lucci, S-Snake, and Jewelry Bonney will be added. Also in the same pack, players can access extra outfits.

The Last Shot Arcades
