When The Art of Shantae was announced in 2017, it was on track for a 2018 release. That ultimately didn’t happen, and the book essentially fell of the radar. After a few years, it has finally resurfaced with a possible 2020 arrival.

A listing for The Art of Shantae has popped up on Amazon, which shows a December 1, 2020 release date. It also contains the following description of the 224-page book:

Listings on Amazon have revealed a new art book for Darksiders Genesis. Coming from Udon Entertainment, fans will be able to pour through 200 pages of character designs, rough concepts, environments, storyboards, and more.

Mega Man X: Mega Mission has been published in Japanese, but never in English. That will change early next year thanks to UDON Entertainment.

UDON revealed at Comic-Con yesterday that Hitoshi Ariga’s Mega Man X: Mega Mission will finally receive a North American release. The first full-color, 48-page issue will be made available in January 2019.

As Rockman Corner notes, Mega Mission first appeared in Hitoshi Ariga’s Rockman Remix manga compilation in 1996. It’s an adaptation of the Mega Mission trading cards by Bandai, which follows a storyline that took place between Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X3.

Back in 2014, a Bayonetta 2 art book, The Eyes of Bayonetta 2, was released in Japan. Now four years later, the book is finally seeing a localized release.

Here’s the official description:

Later this year, Udon will be releasing a pair of Monster Hunter Illustrations books. Two volumes are scheduled for November 20 and December 18 respectively.

Capcom and UDON are partnering on a special 300-page book for Mega Man. On Amazon, the retailer lists Mega Man: Official Complete Works.

Udon Entertainment hosted its own panel at San Diego Comic-Con a short while ago. Among other things, The Art of Shantae was unveiled. The upcoming book will feature art from all four entries in the series.


Udon Entertainment previously announced an art book for Shovel Knight. That one is on track for September.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Official Artworks is seeing localization. It’s officially due out in early March, but it seems Amazon may have stock as soon as February 29.

Here’s a description of the book, which has a little over 200 pages:

Udon Entertainment made several announcements during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today. We now know that art books for Bayonetta 2, Persona Q, and Shovel Knight will be made available. Shovel Knight’s art book is slated for Q1 2016 whereas the others are arriving in the second quarter of next year.

UDON Entertainment has announced that it will publish the Senran Kagura: Official Design Works. The art book contains illustrations from different games in the series, including the original Senran Kagura and Senran Kagura Burst.
