Update (10/4): UK software sales updated with the top 40.


Original (10/3): This week’s UK software sales are in, and it includes the debuts of a few new games.

FIFA 22 took the top spot even though launch week boxed sales decreased by over 35 percent compared to last year’s entry (digital sales are up). The platform breakdown is 41 percent on PS4, 27 percent on Xbox One, 23 percent on PS5, 5 percent on Switch, and 4 percent on Xbox Series.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has shipped over one million copies, Marvelous announced today. That piece of data applies to the combined performance of copies sent to stores as well as digital sales. Back in March, a sales milestone of 700,000 copies was announced.

In May, XSEED said that the game was its fastest-selling title at the time. It managed to sell over 200,000 copies in North America after only two months. Before Pioneers of Olive Town, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town was the previous fastest-selling game for XSEED.

Mario Party Superstars

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Mario Party Superstars and Megaton Musashi appear for the first time.

The latest demon trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V has now arrived, which gives us a look at Cybele. Originally, the creature appeared in Megami Tensei II on the Famicom.

Death's Gambit: Afterlife gameplay

We now have gameplay for Death’s Gambit: Afterlife, the action-RPG platformer that has just come to Switch. Serenity Forge and White Rabbit released the title this week.

Gearshifters gameplay

A new gameplay video has surfaced for Gearshiftersan arcade-action shoot ’em-up rogue-lite from Numskull Games and Red Phantom Games. The title was first announced back in April.

Nintendo has added on to its upcoming maintenance schedule, and there’s quite a bit planned over the next few weeks. Switch, 3DS, and Wii U will all be impacted.

Drum Box Switch

Sanuk Games will soon be releasing Drum Box on Switch, which is apparently “the most complete drumming game” on the system to date.

In it, you’ll play drum parts across eight music genres: Reggae, Rock, Blues, Hip Hop, Metal, Jazz, Funk, Salsa. The game will include popular backing tracks from “Drum! Drum! Drum!”. A few different modes are included like training mode to learn and practice different patterns, a performance mode where you can challenge yourself to build combos, beat your own score, and earn medals, and a freestyle mode where you can drum to your own beat. Three levels of difficulty can be unlocked as well.
