2D platformer Abathor announced for Switch

Publisher JanduSoft, in partnership with developer Pow Pixel Games, today announced a new Switch version of Abathor. It will be available on July 25, 2024.
Abathor is a 2D platformer “with action roguelite influences”. For those interested in playing with friends, up to four people can experience the game locally.

Splatoon 3 + Expansion Pass boxed release announced for Japan

June 19: Nintendo has announced a new boxed release for Splatoon 3 in Japan, specifically titled Splatoon 3 + Expansion Pass. It will be available on July 18, 2024.
The main game and all DLC content will be included. Additionally, a three-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is packed in, which is needed for online play.

Nintendo Switch Online adds Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels icons

Nintendo Switch Online is back with a new classic game that’s being featured with icons on the service, and new designs based on Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels are available.
A total of eight icons are up for grabs. Each one is a character and costs 10 Platinum Points on My Nintendo.

Sonic Superstars gains Retro Diner Style Amy costume

A small bonus was just made available in Sonic Superstars in the form of the Retro Diner Style Amy costume. Switch players can access it now.
The costume contains new apparel for Amy to wear that brings a fun retro vibe to the Northstar Islands. The costume can be equipped during character selection by choosing Amy, and after that, selecting the left or right button when playing Story Mode. Note that it’s entirely free.

Tokyo Clanpool getting English release in the west

Eastasiasoft is partnering with Idea Factory to localize the Switch game Tokyo Clanpool for fans in the west, the company announced today. The title launches in North America and Europe later in 2024.
Tokyo Clanpool, a dungeon RPG made by Compile Heart, has players navigating mazelike dungeons in old-school first-person style. Turn-based combat is also included.

Nintendo shared new data today revealing the top 20 best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for June 2024.
A familiar face is back at the top spot in the form of Suika Game, which may have seen a boost due to its recent DLC. As far as new games go, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD appears at #6. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and Monster Hunter Stories also make the list.

Nintendo to deal with Switch 2 scalping by making enough hardware

Nintendo is looking to ease concerns about Switch 2 scalping, and believes it won’t be an issue when the system launches.
President Shuntaro Furukawa addressed a question about the situation during the a financial results briefing last week. When asked how Nintendo will ensure that scalping doesn’t happen, Furukawa said that the company will meet demand by producing enough units. He also brought up that other measures are being considered within the law.
