Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Academy Y

The latest issue of CoroCoro provides details on the next major update for Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Academy Y – Waiwai Gakuen Seikatsu. A new mode will be added alongside a series of special costumes.

Level-5’s new Werewolf game-style mode begins with four characters tasked with defending the base, but one of them is an enemy spy. You’ll randomly be chosen as the spy or a student who must uncover the spy.

Solomon Program

This month’s issue of CoroCoro provides a release date for Solomon Program, Konami’s strategy RPG for Switch. It’ll be available in Japan starting on February 25. Konami will be offering the title digitally in free-to-play form.

Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed

Mages has shared a pair of new character trailers for Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed. We’ve included videos for Sena Kitada and Mana Kitada below.

In case you missed it, we have character trailers for the protagonist and Suzu Moriizumi here.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is slated for May 20 in Japan and Asia. XSEED will be in charge of the game in the west, but we’re waiting to hear if they’ll be publishing the Switch version as well.

Thunder Cross is this week’s Arcade Archives game on Switch, Hamster has announced. A worldwide release is planned for February 11.

Konami was behind Thunder Cross, which first came to arcades in 1988. It’s a shoot ’em up with a total of seven stages.

Pricing for Arcade Archives Thunder Cross is set at $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29.

Coral Island has achieved huge success on Kickstarter. It was funded in less than 36 hours, with the total currently at around $350,000 and quickly rising. A Switch stretch goal has also been unlocked in the process.

Coral Island is described as “a re-imagined farm sim game inspired by classics.” We have more information about the project plus a trailer below.

Although Summer Catchers isn’t out on the Switch eShop quite yet, a demo for the game did go live. Check out some footage in the video below.

Nintendo has shared a new trailer for Mario Kart Tour, showing the mobile game’s Peach vs. Daisy Tour. Get a look at the video below.

In other news, version 2.8.0 has been announced for Mario Kart Tour. The update will include drivers, karts, and gliders being able to have their level increased to level 7. Additionally, high-end level-boost tickets will be offered from the Tier Shop. The new update will be going out in late February.

Crown Trick

Fans of the animated rogue-like RPG adventure game Crown Trick will be happy to hear that more content is in store. The team is currently wrapping up free DLC for the game.

The DLC will be highlighted by an endless mode, which will feature “a new type of currency, and you can spend it on improving some of your skills, which can also help you go deeper into the dungeon.” It will also include

Azur Lane: Crosswave

Azur Lane: Crosswave, a 3D action shooter, arrives on Switch in the west next week. Take a look at some footage in the video below.

Azur Lane: Crosswave is due out for Switch on February 16 in North America and February 19 in Europe.
