Nagoshi on SEGA making games for GameCube, was surprised by Nintendo’s unity
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Just like Nintendo, SEGA used to produce its own consoles. But after the disappointing performance of the Dreamcast, the company pulled out of the hardware market. It then became a third-party publisher, and was forced to work with Nintendo – something that was unheard of previously due to the rivalry between the two sides.
As part of an interview with Otaquest, SEGA chief creative officer Toshihiro Nagoshi spoke about what it was like creating titles for the GameCube after the company moved on from the console business. Nagoshi told the site that he initially decided to meet with various people from Nintendo, including late president Hiroshi Yamauchi. He was shocked by those conversations as Nagoshi “never encountered a company where everyone held the same stance and desires and worked together in unity”. This was in high contrast to SEGA, since “it was guaranteed to get at least one differing answer”.

Police in Taiwan have managed to use the in-game mail system from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to return a lost Switch system to its owner.
A man going by the name Mr. Jheng visited a local ATM with the console, but accidentally left the device there. It was later brought to the police, and though the officer that received the turn in was unaware of Animal Crossing, his colleagues informed him about how the mailing feature works.
The following message was then sent to one of the friends who had purchased the lost Switch (courtesy of Chinese Nintendo):

New Lost in Random details

One of the highlights from EA Play Live was the reveal of Lost in Random. The new game, made by Stick it to the Man, Flipping Death, and FE, was announced for Switch and other platforms.
As neat as the debut trailer was, it didn’t paint the best picture of what Lost in Random actually is, and some fans may have the wrong impression regarding what the game will be like. Directors Klaus Lyngeled and Olov Redmalm have since shared a bunch of new information with IGN that should start filling in the blanks.
Here’s a roundup of the latest details:
