Namcot Collection

Last week, a special bonus game was revealed for Namcot Collection. Those who purchase all ten games in the collection will receive a retro remake of Pac-Man Championship Edition from 2007.

M2, the studio behind the SEGA Ages games and 3D Classics titles is actually behind that version. Director Naoki Horii shared more about the project and said that it actually started out as a 3DS release. The team has ultimately been working on it for nearly five years.

Horii said the following on Twitter, as translated by Siliconera:

Shantae

It’s tough to believe that the Shantae series is nearly twenty years old. The adventure-platformer franchise first started out in 2002 with its debut entry on the Game Boy Color. WayForward is still continuing on with the IP having recently launched Shantae and the Seven Sirens, and it looks like the studio has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

One possibility for Shantae in the future is an animated series. At the very least, creator Matt Bozon and his wife Erin are interested in the idea.

Bozon told Comicbook in a new interview:

SteamDolls: Order of Chaos

SteamDolls: Order of Chaos landed on Kickstarter this week, and has already gone well beyond its funding goal. The campaign is currently at more than $50,000 with over three weeks remaining. This success means we’ll be getting the game on Switch.

SteamDolls: Order of Chaos, which is made by The Shady Gentlemen and published by Top Hat Studios, is a steampunk-inspired Metroidvania game. David Hayter of Metal Gear Solid fame will be voicing main character The Whisper.

Here’s some additional information and a trailer:

We’ve seen a number of animated Nintendo shows over the years. Zelda, Kirby, and F-Zero have all had their own series, some longer than others. Mario also had a number of appearances on television, including The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, which aired in 1989.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show wasn’t entirely animated. While that was the focus, Lou Albano and Danny Wells played the roles of Mario and Luigi respectively during live-action segments. In Albano’s case, it seems he was so dedicated to the job that he was willing to change his actual name to Mario.
