The Walking Dead: The Final Season reportedly cancelled

News about the situation surrounding Telltale Games continue to surface. After the company confirmed a “majority studio closure”, USgamer and Game Informer are reporting that The Walking Dead: The Final Season has been cancelled and the team has been laid off. That means the series will not be finished.
Telltale just announced this week that the second episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season would be launching next Tuesday. While it appears that will still happen, the remaining two episodes will not be released.
Telltale is apparently finishing up its deal with Netflix for Minecraft: Story Mode. After that, it looks like the studio will be finished.

Telltale confirms “majority studio closure” – statement released

Telltale has released an official statement following reports of turmoil at the studio today. The company is experiencing a “majority studio closure” due to “a year marked by insurmountable challenges.”
Telltale adds that it will have information about its product portfolio “in the coming weeks.”

Telltale suffers massive layoffs, possibly shutting down

Reports are emerging regarding serious trouble at Telltale, developer of The Walking Dead and Batman adventure games, among others. The company is facing significant layoffs, with some outlets claiming that the company could be closing entirely.
Forbes’ Joe Parlock says that Telltale is seeing “a total closure due to bankruptcy.” Only a “skeleton crew” remains at the company to complete The Walking Dead: The Final Season and will then be shuttered.
