nintendogs + cats missing on the North American 3DS eShop
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 2 Comments
A new wave of Nintendo Selects joined the North American lineup on Friday. Five games were added, including nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends. Most of these titles had their prices updated on the eShop, but there’s now a strange situation surroundings the nintendogs + cats games.
Back in 2014, all three versions of nintendogs + cats became available digitally and at just $15. Now, however, they’re gone entirely. Searching for nintendogs + cats brings up zero results. All of the Nintendo Selects had their prices updated on the eShop this past Friday and Nintendo Land even made a return, but it seems that nintendogs + cats is gone. It’s likely related to the fact that Golden Retriever & New Friends’ old price ($15) was lower than it would have been under the Nintendo Selects line ($20).
Will nintendogs + cats ever return? That’s a good question. If the different versions ever come back, they probably won’t be at $15 again.
Thanks to Jose M for the tip.
Developer pulling Outside the Realm from the eShop on September 1

Developers taking down their games from the eShop isn’t something that we see too often. However, TreeFall Studios has decided to move in that direction for one of its older releases.
The Wii U title Outside the Realm will be gone as of September 1. Regarding the decision, TreeFall said “it no longer meets our quality standards”.
TreeFall said on Twitter earlier this month:
Outside the Realm was more of an experiment, we are removing the game from the eShop on Sept 1st as it no longer meets our quality standards

Crystalline Green, the indie developer behind Totem Topple, has pulled back the curtain on its next project. The Wii U eShop game “Flight of Light” mixes music and racing.
The point of Flight of Light is to race in time with the music. When you hit the beet, your vehicle’s speed will be boosted. Nine levels and local multiplayer will be included.
Flight of Light is due out early next year on Wii U and other platforms. View a trailer below.

Producer talks about making the Nintendo CD-i games, cancelled Mario title, and more
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 19 Comments
It’s not too often that we hear about the Nintendo games made for the CD-i. And there’s good reason for that: they’re largely considered to be some of the worst titles out there. They weren’t actually created by Nintendo, as Philips handled them instead.
Philips worked with two developers on a few Nintendo games for the CD-i. There were a trio of Zelda titles, along with Hotel Mario.
Stephen Radosh was one of the people who was very involved with the Nintendo efforts on CD-i. On Hotel Mario, he was executive producer. While he wasn’t there for the initial negotiations Philips had, Nintendo was said to be quite cooperative.
Radosh told Game Informer this month:
“They could have kept saying no, and then it would have never hit the market. I was expecting nothing but combative, and I got the exact opposite.”
“I still had to get approval from Nintendo on everything, because these were their trademark characters. And anyone who owns trademark characters will tell you, you don’t want Link having sex with Zelda on the ramparts of the castle.”
