Senran Kagura 2 sells through 49% of initial shipment, Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 sees 43% sell-through rate

Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson managed to sell 46,494 units in its first week on the Japanese market. Unfortunately for Marvelous, that’s the lowest debut for any Senran Kagura game and it’s about half of what Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus did at launch. Deep Crimson also sold through only 49.13 percent of its initial shipment while Shinovi Versus, the series’ last entry, sold 94,324 copies at launch with a 93.37% sell-through rate.
Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 also hit Japan last week, but the game performed quite a bit better. It had a low sell-through rate (42.89 percent) like Senran Kagura 2, but the game moved 81,584 copies. The title is currently on track with Ultimate Mission 1, which sold 88,386 copies in its first week and went on to sell 290,000 copies.

Dreamfall Chapters’ PS4 exclusivity is timed, Red Thead will be open to ports

Red Thread Games announced PlayStation 4 exclusivity for its new game Dreamfall Chapters earlier this week. But as it turns out, the exclusivity is actually timed – meaning the game could head to other platforms in the future.
Red Thread wrote on Twitter:

What exactly this means for Wii U is unclear. Red Thead recently suggested that they’d like to consider a different game for Nintendo’s console other than Dreamfall Chapters that would fit the platform better. Although, during Dreamfall Chapters’ early days, Wii U was looking like a serious option. So who knows!

Wobbly Tooth has shared first screenshots and details for its new 3DS eShop game “Battleminer”.
The developer describes Battleminer as “an open-world block game exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. In a world where giant, mutant Ants have taken over, your mission is to rescue Survivors that are hostage to the Ants.” Survivors who are rescued will reward you with items or teach you the ability to craft new items yourself.
Players will be able to mine for various resources in Battleminer. These include wood, copper, zinc, and other materials. You’ll then be able to craft items such as weapons and ammunition to help you survive.
Different types of Ants will be encountered while you progress, and each has its own behaviors. New ant types will also present new challenges for the player.
Wobbly Tooth has also confirmed stereoscopic 3D support, a dynamic day-night cycle, and a peaceful Creative Mode where you can build your own structures and share screenshots of them via the Miiverse.
Battleminer is the first game on 3DS to feature a procedural voxel world with an infinite map size. And it’s all running at 60 frames-per-second.
We should be seeing Battleminer in North America in late October. The European/Australian release will follow “a month or two after that.” Expect a price point of $9.99 / £5.99 / €7.49.

Helix Games talks Don’t Touch Anything Red, new game Altered, Wii U media player plans

Helix Games founder Bailey Earley spoke with Miiverse user Folkloner as part of a recent interview. Earley discussed the Wii U eShop title Don’t Touch Anything Red (which should hopefully be out next month and sooner in Europe), another new game for Wii U/3DS called “Altered”, and plans to bring out a media player for Nintendo’s console.

A bit of Super Mario 3D World maintenance taking place on Monday

A little bit of online maintenance will be taking place on Monday for Super Mario 3D World. Between 7:30 PM ET and 8:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT and 5:30 PM PT), the game’s online functionality will be affected.
Super Mario 3D World doesn’t have a whole lot of online features, so it’s a bit strange to see it getting maintenance. Aside from ghosts Miis and some Miiverse usage, there’s not too much there.
