Melty Blood: Type Lumina update adding Ushiwakamaru and The Count of Monte Cristo, more

The next major update for Melty Blood: Type Lumina will be released next week featuring Ushiwakamaru and The Count of Monte Cristo as new playable characters, it’s been announced. Players can access it starting on December 15, 2022.
Ushiwakamaru and The Count of Monte Cristo are characters who appeared in the smartphone game Fate/Grand Order, and are now coming to the Switch fighter. On top of that, Face the Surging Waves and Prison Tower – Hall will be added as new stages. The two originate from Ushiwakamaru. Other additions include Boss Rush with a story written by Kinoko Nasu, ten free remastered music tracks from Melty Blood: Actress Again, four new color variations / color palettes for all characters, roughly 530 free words that can be used in “Customize”, and support for Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Thus far, a physical version of Aviary Attorney: Definitive Edition has not yet been made available on Switch. But Leoful is preparing the game for a Japanese debut, and we know that it will be accompanied by a physical version. For fans in the west, they might be interested to hear that other language support is confirmed.
The physical version of Aviary Attorney: Definitive Edition on Switch will support English, Japanese Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Fans can simply import a copy from Japan and play through as they would any other Switch title.
GyroBlade, vertical scrolling shooter, hitting Switch this month

Tendokore is publishing GyroBlade on Switch this month, the company has announced. It will be available in North America, Europe, and Australia on December 19, 2022.
GyroBade is technically already available – but only in Japan. It was silently released in the region a little while back.

Dragon Quest Treasures dev on game’s origins, Dragon Quest Monsters not dead

Dragon Quest Treasures producer Taichi Inuzuka spoke to Japanese magazine Famitsu in this week’s issue about the origins of the game as well as the future of the Dragon Quest Monsters series.
Inuzuka described the new title as a “reboot” of sorts after feeling that Square Enix “put in everything we could think of” for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 Professional. The team became interested in the concept of using an open-world and went from there. Some fans will be happy to hear assurance from Inuzuka that Dragon Quest Treasures doesn’t mean the Dragon Quest Monsters series is over.

The Game Awards 2022 are officially in the books, and we want to know what you thought about the show.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 missed out on Game of the Year, but Nintendo did pick up some other awards. You can find the full list here.
Of course, another big component of The Game Awards are new announcements. After skipping 2021 entirely, Nintendo did have a presence this year. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon was unveiled and the Expansion Pass for Fire Emblem Engage was shown. There was some third-party news as well such as Hellboy Web of Wyrd and Hades II.

Them’s Fightin’ Herds gains Texas DLC this month, new trailer

A release date has been set for the Texas DLC in Them’s Fightin’ Herds. The DLC character will be available on December 19, publisher Modus Games and developer Mane6 just announced.
Texas is the highlight of the DLC drop, but it includes a couple of other elements as well. Players can get their hands on a new lobby avatar as well as the Caravan Cattledome stage.
