Indie developer Barnstorm Games just launched its Kickstarter for “Pro Pinball: Timeshock!” yesterday. The campaign has already raised over £17,000 of the £40,000 goal.
The campaign doesn’t have any Wii U or 3DS stretch goals at present (that could change in the future), but Barnstorm has interest in bringing Pro Pinball to both platforms “eventually”.
You can support Pro Pinball: Timeshock! on Kickstarter here. Barnstorm intends to include realistic tables, worldwide leaderboards, and more.

Carmack “extremely unlikely” to develop for Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii U | 0 comments
Don’t count on any Wii U, 3DS, or PlayStation Vita games from id Software founder and technical director John Carmack.
Carmack stated during a presentation at QuakeCon 2013 that he’s “extremely unlikely” to develop for any of the aforementioned platforms.
Journalist Britton Peele, who attended the event, shared the tidbit from Carmack on Twitter:
Carmack would love to develop for 3DS, Wii U, Vita … but it's "extremely unlikely to happen."
— Britton Peele (@BrittonPeele) August 1, 2013
Earlier in his talk, Carmack said that he had interest in bringing Doom 3: BFG Edition to Wii U and PS Vita, but they were not supported due to a lack of interest.

John Carmack, founder and technical director at id Software, has said that he would have liked to bring Doom 3: BFG Edition to Wii U and PS Vita.
Speaking at QuakeCon 2013 today, Carmack noted that even though both platforms would have been “great targets” for the game, there’s simply “not enough interest”.
Journalist Britton Peele relayed the news from Carmack on Twitter:
"I always thought the Wii U and the Vita would be great targets for Doom 3:BFG. But there's not enough interest" Carmack says.
— Britton Peele (@BrittonPeele) August 1, 2013
Last year, Carmack said he wished he could bring Doom 3 BFG Edition to platforms such as the Wii U and PS Vita, but indicated that there wasn’t enough time to make this a reality.

Donkey Kong will be hitting the 3DS eShop on August 15, according a listing on the digital store. Pricing is set at $4.99.
Like Nintendo’s own website database, take these listings with a grain of salt. They’re often accurate, but there have been a few cases in which they’ve been incorrect.

XSEED: Pandora’s Tower did “pretty well”, tough finding the right “bigger games” for 3DS retail, future announcements
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii | 0 comments
Pandora’s Tower is XSEED’s latest and likely final Wii title localized by the company. It came out during a fairly difficult period – once the Wii U was in the spotlight and at the beginning of the year.
Thankfully, Pandora’s Power did “pretty well”, according to executive vice-president Ken Berry. Had XSEED published the title during the 2012 holiday season, however, it “could have done much better”.
Berry told Siliconera:
“Pandora’s Tower has done pretty well, though not quite the level that The Last Story enjoyed. It probably could have done much better if we could have released it last holiday season rather than the first quarter of this year.”

Capcom is bringing Breath of Fire II to the Wii U Virtual Console. Now it’s just a matter of when.
In a new blog post, the company said that it will be available “in the coming months.” Not exactly a specific date there!
Nintendo Treehouse on localizing Mario & Luigi

The Nintendo Treehouse is behind pretty much all localized titles that Nintendo puts out on its systems. Mario & Luigi is no exception. Fortunately, senior localization manager Nate Bihldorff says that the characters only require a few tweaks – no major recreations of characters are required:
“Conceptually, all the characters are generally just one tweak away from being awesome. It’s a matter of making it fit better.”
