Irvine, Calif. – June 10, 2014 – After an unplanned hiatus, Shin Megami Tensei® IV is back on track for releasing in Europe. The groundbreaking RPG from ATLUS is the first true Shin Megami Tensei sequel since 2003’s SMT: Nocturne. ATLUS will be self-publishing SMT IV in Europe as a digital download release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS™. The release will be English language-only, and the price is still to be determined, but the launch is targeted for Q3.

The story of SMTIV revolves around the Samurai, the sacred protectors of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. As a newly appointed Samurai, players will struggle with factions that have nefarious designs on the world as they defend Mikado from a growing army of demons flowing from the mysterious dungeon, Naraku. Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Details on the European release, including price and DLC availability will be revealed in the coming months.

Nintendo has put a whole bunch of games on the eShop. Mario, Sonic, Zelda, LEGO, and Yoshi games have been discounted. Find the full list here.
