The Legend of Korra A New Era Begins

A listing on Amazon provides a few more details about Activision’s 3DS game based on The Legend of Korra TV series. This version of the game is fully titled “The Legend of Korra A New Era Begins”.

The Legend of Korra A New Era Begins features an original storyline penned by the show’s creators much like the console game. Players will be able to change bending styles at any time, and in doing so, can execute combos. It will also be possible to enter the Avatar state.

Finally, Amazon has a tiny tidbit about The Legend of Korra A New Era Begins’ storyline. Korra and the rest of the gang will need “to stop an ancient evil that has emerged from the portal and threatens the balance of both worlds”.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is making its playable debut in Japan this weekend. The game is appearing at the World Hobby Fair, which ends tomorrow.

One attendee picked up the flyer above that seems to hint at another secret character in Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. Notice the question mark next to the Mii fighter on the top right.

With the World Hobby Fair ending tomorrow, could we be getting another character reveal? If nothing else, it could be a sign that someone new will be confirmed in the somewhat near future.

Sayonara Umihara Kawase’s title might suggest a farewell to this series, but for most players it’s more like a welcome to this bizarre world full of freakish fish and perilous platforming. While the first two Umihara Kawase games never left Japan, they managed to become cult classics thanks to their mix of unforgiving but addictive gameplay and some good old-fashioned weirdness. As a return to the series’ distinctive tone and action, Sayonara Umihara Kawase initially seems geared to hardcore fans, but it also manages to serve as a more gentle introduction to its unique style of platforming —before throwing players into the deep end of a pool full of acid.

As far as I’m aware there aren’t any major differences between the European version, which I played, and the Natsume-published North American version. Well aside from the fact that it was re-titled to “Umi’s Odd Odyssey”, because Natsume just have to alter the name of everything they localize. Just be glad they didn’t call it Legend of the River King Gaiden or Spanky’s Quest.
