Pre-orders for the Super Famicom Mini opened in Japan this past weekend. Just like what we’ve seen with Switch lotteries, chaos erupted. Kotaku puts it all into perspective with some snapshots taken by consumers on Twitter.

First up, roughly forty people were lined up at one Yodobashi Camera in Yokohama:

Nintendo appears to be readying restocks of three Link amiibo. CPSIA certificates for the original Smash Bros. Link, 8-bit Link, and Majora’s Mask Link have been updated. Each one had an additional run of manufacturing in August.

CPSIA pages naturally don’t mention when restocks will be taking place, but these Link amiibo should be showing up again soon. Keep your eyes peeled for movement at retailers in the weeks ahead.

Additional information has surfaced about the new Playing With Super Power: Nintendo Super NES Classics book. Prima will be publishing it alongside the SNES Classic Edition later this month.

Playing With Super Power: Nintendo Super NES Classics is really intended to be a love-letter to the classic gaming system. You can expect full coverage of all included games such as Star Fox 2. The book also goes over the history, legacy, and related memories, plus speedrunning tips.

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime wrote the exclusive foreword. Oh, and the hardcover version has a slipecase.

Here’s the full rundown of the book:

Update: Looks like this may have already sold out. Definitely did not last long.

Original: Those who are interested in the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champions amiibo may want to visit GameStop. The retailer’s website is taking pre-orders for a bundle featuring all four here. At first glance, this doesn’t appear to be the 4-pack – just the figures bundled together in one package. Regardless, you should be getting all of the Champions with a purchase.

More Metroid: Samus Returns-related rewards are up for grabs on My Nintendo in North America.

First up, two more wallpapers have been added to the site. Each one costs 50 Platinum Points each and will be available through the end of March 2018.

At Variety’s Entertainment and Technology Summit, Nintendo of America’s president Reggie Fils-Aime offered a brief overview regarding the company’s plans for 2018.

Reggie touched on all of the key points you would expect. Nintendo will still be looking to drive its Switch business with “a number of great games”. Reggie also stressed how increasing the system’s install base will create opportunities for third-parties.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s video, Kit and Krysta celebrate the launch of Metroid: Samus Returns by looking back at all of the 2D Metroid games starting from the original Metroid all the way to Zero Mission. Watch it below.

Amazon Germany has started taking pre-orders for the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo, and they do ship to the US. You can order the set here.

Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa are included in the 4-pack. Nintendo will begin selling the latest amiibo on November 10.

Amazon Germany began taking pre-orders for other new Nintendo products yesterday as well. The European Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Collector’s Edition, Poke Ball New 2DS XL, and more are up here.

Thanks to axel for the tip.

Update: You can also grab the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super NES wallpaper for 50 Platinum Points.

Original: Over in Europe, My Nintendo members can use their points to grab three 3DS themes. Themes based on Mario, Link, and Pit are available for 200 Platinum Points each.

These rewards can be found on My Nintendo here. They’ll be up until December 1.

Our next update on Nintendo’s financial situation isn’t too far off. The company updated its fiscal calendar today, confirming that the Six Months Earnings Release will be posted on October 30. You can expect to hear more about how Switch is doing, the latest on 3DS sales, and more. A briefing should also be taking place around the same time.
