The official website is now open for the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. Access it here. There’s not too much new aside from the announcement shared earlier this morning, but the page itself is neat.
There’s also this “Classics” logo at the bottom… and you know what that means: the speculation pot is already stirring. Could Nintendo opt to bring out more versions of its retro systems?

Rumor: U.S. version of the N64 64DD found
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors | 21 Comments
The 64DD was made as an expansion to the Nintendo 64, allowing the console to use more memory and offering a handful of exclusive games. It saw a brief run in Japan, but never headed overseas. That’s why a new find may end up being very interesting.
Over on the ASSEMbler forums, user “PostedOval” claims to have come across a U.S. version of the 64DD. Although this person shared some photos that seems to indicate that it’s legitimate, we can’t completely say that it’s definitely real. We’ll let you know if there are any other developments pertaining to the situation.

The newest issue of Mainichi Shinbun has some additional tidbits about Nintendo’s partnership with Universal Studios.
Mainichi Shinbun learned from the boss of Universal Studios Japan that the Mario area will “exceed” the Harry Potter section. He also said that “many” of Nintendo’s IPs are under consideration for the theme park aside from Mario. Finally, it’s once again said that the Nintendo area of Universal Studios Japan will be open by the 2020 Olympics.
Nintendo announced its collaboration with Universal Studios last May. Specifics were not shared at the time, and the two sides have mostly been keeping things under wraps.
