Mother shop

Hobonichi recently set up new Mother shops in Japan based on the EarthBound series. A location previously opened in Osaka for a couple of weeks, followed by another in Tokyo, which will close on December 27.

If you’re an EarthBound series, you’ll find that these shops are almost like treasure troves. There’s a slew of merchandise to pick up such as Mother: The Complete Scripts, plushies, jewelry, and more.

Many fans – especially ones in the west – probably won’t be able to make it to these limited-time shops. However, Twitter user masato_furuya did share a whole bunch of photos a few days ago. We’ve rounded them up below.

Following up on last week’s presentation, more information has been shared about Super Nintendo World. Selected Club Universal members and annual pass holders have been invited to visit the theme park early.

The Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure rides will be the primary attracts at Super Nintendo World. We’ve also heard about the Kinopio Cafe, which will offer a Bacon & Cheese Mario Burger, Piranha Plant Caprese, Question Block Tiramisu, and more. Those looking to pick up merchandise can stop by the 1Up Factory Shop, which features Mario themed hoodies, mustachioed glasses and gloves, and the Tokotoko Mario toy.

Here’s a look at some of the food items and merchandise:

Geno

Geno is joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, though perhaps not in the way fans had hoped. Rather than a fighter, he’s being added to the game as a Mii Fighter costume. It follows the trend set in the previous Smash Bros. entry.

Having Geno represented is still notable, and Super Mario RPG character designer Kazuyuki Kurashima is celebrating the news with concept art originally created for the title so many years ago. You can find the full set below.

Buddy Mission Bond

This week’s Famitsu scans are now available. Highlights include The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV, Buddy Mission Bond, Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World The Prophecy of the Throne, and Rune Factory 5. Scans of all games can be found below.

Original (12/8): As we heard a couple of months ago, Lyn – otherwise known as Lyndis – from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade is getting a new 1/7 scale figure. A new status update was provided today.

Intelligent Systems is directly involved with the figure. It’s also based on the illustration from Sachiko Wada, who worked on the GBA game.
