The launch of Dragon Quest games is always a big deal in Japan. It’s an extremely popular series, and each new entry is treated as a huge event.

It’s been a five year wait for the next Dragon Quest title. The wait has been even longer for a new single-player focused game. And so Japan no doubt treated the release of Dragon Quest XI as an important event. You can see a few photos from the launch below.

We previously posted the cover for the special version of Playing With Super Power: Nintendo SNES Classics. Amazon’s listing has since updated wit the cover for the paperback release. We have it above.

Playing With Super Power: Nintendo SNES Classics comes out alongside the Super NES Classic Edition on September 29.

Alongside Dragon Quest XI’s launch in Japan, Square Enix teamed up with Nintendo for a special New 2DS XL. The system has a special design modeled after the series’ Liquid Metal Slime monster. Take a closer look at the system below with a few photos.

Square Enix released the official boxart for Lost Sphear today. The game will only be sold physically through the company’s online store.

Nintendo’s Comic-Con activities are officially underway. Fans stopped by starting today to check out the company’s game offerings, and some showed up dressed as certain characters.
