Sakurai shares development details on Super Smash Bros

Following his previous videos detailing development on games in the Kirby series, Masahiro Sakurai has released a new video on his channel providing a closer look at Super Smash Bros’ development.
Sakurai mentions that after Kirby Super Star’s launch was wrapped up, he moved onto independent 3D study, and proposed two games for the Nintendo 64: an RC robot adventure game where you would hack into security cameras to progress, and a four player free-for-all fighting game called Dragon King, which would go on to become Super Smash Bros. Sakurai also shares prototype footage of Dragon King in the video.
Pikmin Bloom update out now (version 56.0), patch notes

Niantic has released a new version 56.0 update for Pikmin Bloom.
This update mostly focuses on small quality of life changes. These include being able to see featured items in shop banners, providing the ability to sort postcards by favorites, adjusting the sound of Pikmin eating nectar, and updating the appearance of special spots.

The second Nintendo Switch Sports update of the week has now gone live, and distribution of version 1.2.3 has started.
For those that aren’t keeping up with the situation, Nintendo’s patches this week are intended to address issues that started with version 1.2.1. With that update, cheaters were primarily being targeted. However, some players ended up encountering crashing issues once version 1.2.1 was installed. Due to the problems, online servers were even taken offline for a few days.

Minecraft Dungeons “Fauna Faire” update out now (version 1.16.1.0), patch notes

Minecraft Dungeons received a massive update today known as “Fauna Faire”. Although it’s largely known as version 1.16.2.0, it’ll show on Switch as version 1.16.1.0.
Fauna Faire lets players team up with friends and take on new challenges including the Tower multiplayer mode featuring additional floor variations as well as Treetop Tangle. There’s also the Enchantsmith, an option to take on a random mission, and more.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is almost ready to go on the Switch, and a release date has now been announced. We now have confirmation that the North American launch is lined up for November 8, 2022. Europe will be getting the game a bit earlier on October 27.

Sonic Frontiers shares “Cyber Space DJ Mix” music track

SEGA is offering another preview of the Sonic Frontiers soundtrack with another piece of music, “Cyber Space DJ Mix”. Tomoya Ohtani was in charge of the arrangement and composition.
Sonic Frontiers will be largely open zone. However, players can also enter Cyber Space levels which feature the kind of 3D platforming levels the series was known for previously.

UK sales for September 2022

Thanks to GamesIndustry, we have new insight into the UK gaming market for September 2022.
For Nintendo, Splatoon 3 was a big winner of the month. It was the second best-selling physical game in the UK for September. It was #4 overall, but keep in mind that Nintendo doesn’t report digital sales.
