SEGA

Just like Nintendo, SEGA used to produce its own consoles. But after the disappointing performance of the Dreamcast, the company pulled out of the hardware market. It then became a third-party publisher, and was forced to work with Nintendo – something that was unheard of previously due to the rivalry between the two sides.

As part of an interview with Otaquest, SEGA chief creative officer Toshihiro Nagoshi spoke about what it was like creating titles for the GameCube after the company moved on from the console business. Nagoshi told the site that he initially decided to meet with various people from Nintendo, including late president Hiroshi Yamauchi. He was shocked by those conversations as Nagoshi “never encountered a company where everyone held the same stance and desires and worked together in unity”. This was in high contrast to SEGA, since “it was guaranteed to get at least one differing answer”.

Pokemon Sword/Shield - The Crown Tundra

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield launched the first part of its Expansion Pass, The Isle of Armor, last month. The Crown Tundra will arrive later this year as part of the next DLC drop.

Once players access The Crown Tundra, the games will be introducing a whole bunch of additional elements. There’ll be more Pokemon to catch and fight, new areas to explore, the Galarian Star Tournament, and more. Players can look forward to further information in the future, but we have news regarding a notable upcoming item.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Police in Taiwan have managed to use the in-game mail system from Animal Crossing: New Horizons to return a lost Switch system to its owner.

A man going by the name Mr. Jheng visited a local ATM with the console, but accidentally left the device there. It was later brought to the police, and though the officer that received the turn in was unaware of Animal Crossing, his colleagues informed him about how the mailing feature works.

The following message was then sent to one of the friends who had purchased the lost Switch (courtesy of Chinese Nintendo):

Nintendo has given a bit of heads up regarding its future maintenance plans. There’s not a whole lot that’s scheduled, but we do know of three different periods lined up leading into the start of August.

Here’s what we know of at the moment:

Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 19 has returned in Fire Emblem Heroes. 5-star Heroes who showed up before the start of Book II appear as focus Heroes, and the focus lineup changes each week.

You’ll be able to partake in Summoning Focus: Weekly Revival 19 until July 26.

One of the highlights from EA Play Live was the reveal of Lost in Random. The new game, made by Stick it to the Man, Flipping Death, and FE, was announced for Switch and other platforms.

As neat as the debut trailer was, it didn’t paint the best picture of what Lost in Random actually is, and some fans may have the wrong impression regarding what the game will be like. Directors Klaus Lyngeled and Olov Redmalm have since shared a bunch of new information with IGN that should start filling in the blanks.

Here’s a roundup of the latest details:

Kill It With Fire, “a first-person action game about hunting spiders and causing collateral damage”, may have a shot at landing on Switch. Publisher tinyBuild posted a video this week showing a technical test for the game running on the platform in portable mode. Before now, there hadn’t been any discussion regarding a potential Switch port.

We’ll keep an eye out for a possible announcement in the future of Kill It With Fire coming to Switch. For now, learn more about the game with an official overview and Switch video below.

Spirit of the North
