Plenty of Fishies possibly moved back to next week

Plenty of Fishies may now be heading to the North American Wii U eShop next week. Nitrolic Games previously said that the title would be available this Thursday, but the eShop is stating otherwise. The game’s date seems to have been changed to December 18 – we’ll try to obtain confirmation.

Bike Rider DX3 releasing on the Japanese 3DS eShop next week

Bike Rider DX3 is a thing. Despite not having been actually announced by Spicysoft prior to today, the game is heading to the Japanese 3DS eShop next week.
Bike Rider DX3’s launch is slated for December 17. Pricing is set at 600 yen. When we have details about the game, we’ll be sure to bring them to you.

Nintendo seeing new trial with Tomita Technologies over glasses-free 3D patent thanks to successful appeal

Seijiro Tomita has been engaged with a longstanding battle with Nintendo over a glasses-free 3D patent. Tomita won a lawsuit last year, and we heard this past January that Nintendo would be forced to pay Tomita Technologies 1.82 percent of the wholesale price on every 3DS sold.
Now we have a new development in this lengthy saga. The patent dispute has been sent back to a lower court because, as Bloomberg reports, “The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said that a judge incorrectly interpreted a key element in a patent related to the display of 3-D images on a screen without special glasses for the viewer.” The misinterpretation caused confusion among the jury.
Bloomberg continues:
Kyoto-based Nintendo appealed the lower court finding that its 3DS gaming system infringed Tokyo-based Tomita’s patent 7,417,664. While the appeals court said the patent element was interpreted correctly, it rejected Nintendo’s argument that the patent was invalid.
The appeals court sent the case back to New York for a new trial based on jury instructions that clarified the confusion over the patent element.
We’ll keep track of any future developments about this situation.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse for Wii U in final testing, may still release in North America this month

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse already launched for 3DS back in October. However, WayForward has also been preparing the same game for Wii U.
It’s still unclear when exactly Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is coming to Nintendo’s console, though it could release this month. The title is currently in final testing and WayForward said on Twitter that “a 2014 release looks possible”.

Factotum planned for the Wii U eShop

TACS Games is developing Factotum for the Wii U eShop. The game is a robotic double-first-person-puzzler.
Here’s an official overview:
On a space ship taken over by unknown aliens the player must take command of two disused menial robots in an attempt to regain control of the ship. The robots must work together to move through the ship, solving puzzles and repairing the ships systems in an effort to keep the trapped crew alive and ultimately repel the invaders.

Fairune block size

Circle Entertainment’s Fairune is set for release in Europe later this week. Those who plan on picking up the game will need to reserve 781 blocks of space on their SD card. Given how small a size that is, it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
