Another Arcade Archives game is about to drop on Nintendo Switch, with Final Star Force due to release worldwide tomorrow, January 23.
Final Star Force is a shooting game released by Tecmo in 1992, and a sequel to Star Force, set 2000 years later. The antagonist from the previous game has returned, and your objective is to defeat them in a final battle.

Technos The World: Kunio-kun & Arcade Collection coming to Nintendo Switch

Ark System Works have announced that they will be bringing Technos The World: Kunio-kun & Arcade Collection to Nintendo Switch this year in Japan. The 12-game collection of Technos titles will launch on April 12.

Windswept on the way to Nintendo Switch

Windswept, a new project coming from publisher Top Hat Studios and developer WeatherFell, has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch. This one is expected in 2025.
Windswept is a 2D platformer featuring a duck and a turtle. The game features full local co-op with players controlling one of the animals.

Pokemon Unite reveals Galarian Rapidash

December 28: Galarian Rapidash is the next playable character planned for Pokemon Unite, it’s been announced. The character goes live on January 23, 2025.
This is actually the first appearance of Rapidish in any form. The Pokemon’s regular version is not currently available. The creature originally appeared in the eighth generation of games – specifically Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie coming in 2027 [update: March]

December 19: According to a Variety report, Paramount Pictures will be releasing a Sonic the Hedgehog 4 movie. The film is targeting a Spring 2027 debut.
The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has proven to be a success for Paramount and SEGA. Its latest addition, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, officially arrives in theaters tomorrow. A spin-off miniseries, Knuckles, also landed on Paramount+ earlier this year.

GDC 2025 survey: 8% of devs making Nintendo Switch 2 game

GDC published its annual State of the Game Industry survey today, and the 2025 edition provides some insight into Nintendo Switch 2.
One of the questions developers were asked was regarding the platforms are being used for their current project. 8 percent responded by saying Nintendo Switch 2. That’s actually the same percentage given in last year’s State of the Game Industry report.

Limited Run Games made its latest announcement today, which is a physical release for Raiden Nova on Nintendo Switch.
There’ll be just a standard version this time around. However, Limited Run Games is also offering a bundle featuring the game’s soundtrack.

Minecraft gains Hello Kitty and Friends DLC

Starting today, if you own Minecraft, you can now get your hands on new Hello Kitty and Friends DLC.
The DLC lets player sbuild a cozy farm, grow crops, and raise animals. That’s along with the ability to upgrade a house with new furniture and enjoy fun seasonal events like egg hunts and pumpkin carving.
