This week’s issue of Famitsu reveals Samurai Warriors Chronicle 3 for the 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

According to the magazine, Samurai Warriors Chronicle 3 adds new systems and scenarios. The game will also feature the “Godspeed Action” and “Secret Musou” moves from Samurai Warriors 4. Samurai Warriors Chronicle 3 will also include over 50 military commanders from Samurai Warriors 4. Finally, we know that the game features the most amount of character edits in the Chronicle series thus far.

Samurai Warriors Chronicle 3 will be released later this year in Japan.

The long-running horse racing/business simulation Derby Stallion series is heading to 3DS, Famitsu has revealed. “Derby Stallion Gold” is set to be released in Japan this winter.

This week’s issue of Famitsu features an interview with creator Hiroyuki Sonobe plus first screenshots. We’ll have news as it leaks from the magazine.

Atlus has finally confirmed the rumored Etrian Odyssey II remake for 3DS – complete with a trailer. The game is coming to Japan this winter.

Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey II remake will offer a new story and an opening video from Madhouse. Kanako It? will be singing the game’s theme.

A feature published on Famitsu’s website late last week details three weapons in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate: the Charge Blade, Dual Blades, and Heavy Bowgun. For information about each of these, check out our summary below (translations from Siliconera):

Charge Blade

– Can switch between sword and axe forms
– Lets you charge up energy to unleash powerful attacks
– In Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, the weapon gets a new feature with a shield thrust attack while in Sword mode, and a powerful spin-attack in its Axe form

Dual Blades

– New Archdemon mode in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
– This is the one that activates after Demon mode with a full gauge
_ Archdemon allows you to use your finishing move, but instead of experiencing the normal delay, you’ll be able to keep on attacking with continuous combos

Heavy Bowgun

– Additional bump in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
– This only applies to weapons of six-star rarity and higher
– New Heavy Bowgun feature lets you unlock the weapon’s limits that allows you to use a FireWyvern shot, and then attack with other shots while reloading the FireWyvern ammo
– Weapon’s downtime while waiting for the reload decreases as well

System 3’s James Pond: Robocod reboot is no longer planned for Wii U. PS3, Xbox 360, and Android versions have also been canned. However, as originally announced, James Pond: Robocod will still be coming to 3DS.

It looks like some maintenance will be coming to online services on 3DS and Wii U systems later this week. Over on neoGAF it was pointed out that this type of extended maintenance often occurs before system updates. In any case, here is the schedule for the downtime:

– Wii U and 3DS (online play, leaderboards, etc…) on Tuesday, August 5:

a) Europe : 2AM to 4AM
b) UK : 1AM to3AM
c) USA (East Coast) : 8PM to 10PM (Monday)
d) USA (West Coast) : 5PM to 7PM (Monday)
e) Japan : 9AM to 11AM

Additionally, Steel Diver: Sub Wars will get the same treatment the following day:

– Steel Diver : Sub Wars (3DS – online play, leaderboards, etc…) on Wednesday, August 6:

a) Europe : 2.50AM to 4AM
b) UK : 1.50AM to3AM
c) USA (East Coast) : 8.50PM to 10PM (Monday)
