Yo-kai Watch originally came to Japan in 2013. However, it wasn’t until last year that the franchise appeared in North America.

In an interview with USgamer, Hino talked about the wait for Yo-kai Watch in the west, telling the site:

“In Japan, Level-5 is a known company and we have a good relationship with various companies. But here in the west, it takes time to actually build a relationship with some of the big companies. Since Level-5 isn’t just known for just its name, we have had to build up a level of trust, which we see as one of our biggest challenges.

We realized that our company was finally mature enough to set up a company here. So we think that was one of the factors.”

As we mentioned yesterday, Shaymin is now available as the latest Mythical Pokemon distribution in X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. Watch the official trailer below.

Level-5 uploaded the latest video for Yo-kai Watch today. In the new clip, we’re able to see Zombie Night – an event that has players running from zombies and ringing a bell to complete the escape. View the video below.

The Japanese Pokemon Sun/Moon website has been updated with more screenshots and art from the two games. We’ve rounded up the images below.

The Pokemon Company has now sent out an official announcement about today’s news pertaining to new Pokemon featured in Sun/Moon.

First, we have the following art:

And here’s the lineup of Pokemon:

Name: Tapu Koko

Type: Electric/Fairy

Tapu Koko is the guardian deity of Melemele Island, one of the islands of the Alola region. Tapu Koko’s Ability is Electric Surge, an Ability which has never been seen before. The Electric Surge Ability fills the field around the Pokémon’s feet with electricity when it appears, raising the power of any Electric-type moves for Pokémon on the ground and preventing any Pokémon from falling asleep.

Name: Charjabug

Type: Bug/Electric

Charjabug is the first Evolution of Grubbin, a new Alola region Pokémon revealed last month. Charjabug’s Battery Ability allows it to raise the power of allies’ special moves.

Along with newly-revealed Pokemon, a returning feature has been confirmed for Sun/Moon. We now know that it will be possible to ride Pokemon in the two games. You can see how this looks in Sun/Moon through the screenshot above.

Earlier this week, Media Create data revealed that Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns sold 100,000 copies in its first week in Japan. Per usual, the sales tracker has now followed up with a report that offers more insight into the title’s debut.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns sold through 61.29 percent of its initial shipment. It didn’t live up to the original game in both first week sales (131,000 units) and sell-through rate (73.07 percent). On the other hand, retailers have noticed that fans who’ve picked up the game are noticeably in their 30s, so it is suggested that there is a strong core fan base that has loyally followed the series through its 20 years.

Looking at the past 3DS releases of Story of Seasons (total sales 286,000 copies) and Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning (287,000 copies), both had managed a stable sales volume. Media Create is therefore observing whether Trio of Towns will be able to keep the same sales volume in the future.
