Nintendo’s 76th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders is about to begin. NStyles appears to be in attendance and Cheesemeister will be translating, so we should be getting information from the event as it happens.
The meeting will kick off at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT. We’ll start posting tidbits around then.
– A Mario towel, Pikachu cookies, and room-temperature green tea given to attendees

– 20 minutes before it began, the seats were about 30% filled (can hold 1,000); up to 60% around 10 minutes before start time

– The 76th annual report is not being read by president Kimishima, but rather a recorded narration is being played with slides
– There were no big 3DS hit titles, so sales were low
– Splatoon, Mario Maker, Twilight Princess HD did well
– amiibo hit 24.7 million units
– Download sales totaled 43.9 billion yen
– Miitomo got off to a good start
– Operating income recovered, but losses due to the strong yen reduced ordinary and net income
– Assets: 1 trillion, 296.9 billion yen; net assets minus liabilities equal 1 trillion, 160.9 billion yen, down 6.6b yen from last
– Issues to address. Up to now, the goal has been to expand the gaming population irregardless of age, gender, or experience. Now, the focus is to increase the population exposed to Nintendo IPs.
– Pokemon Sun/Moon 3DS due out worldwide in November, with many other Nintendo, strong 3rd-party titles to be released
– The aim with 3DS is to make the platform active again
– NX reconfirmed for worldwide launch in March 2017; the dedicated game machine business will continue to be core
– amiibo and download businesses will continue to receive focus
– Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing come to smart devices this fall
– Focusing on My Nintendo, we want to create synergy between the dedicated game machine and smart device businesses
– Nintendo IP will be used in theme parks, character goods, and film contents
– Nintendo said the Wii U would continue to fight on, but only Zelda is coming next year
– The resolutions that were voted upon are explained (these can be found online already)
– There are 6 resolutions this year

7th Dragon III Code: VFD unboxing

7th Dragon III Code: VFD demo out now in North America

If you’re in North America, you can now download a demo for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. SEGA is giving fans a taste of the game before it launches in a couple of weeks. 2,039 blocks (254.875MB) of space are needed for the download.
The 7th Dragon III Code: VFD demo “provides players with a streamlined pre-made group with a character cap of level 10”. Best of all, demo saves transfer over to the main game. Doing so allows you to “refund all the skill points and customize the group any way you want.” It also appears that there’s some sort of reward for transferring saves.
7th Dragon III Code: VFD releases on July 12.

Aikatsu Stars! My Special Appeal – songs and release date, First Appeal game

A bit of extra information about Aikatsu Stars! My Special Appeal has leaked out of Famitsu following the game’s announcement earlier today. Confirmed songs include “Aikatsu Step,” “Start Line,” “Episode Solo,” “Miracle Force Magic,” “Mirai Transit,” “Dancing Days,” “August Marina,” and more. A release is planned for winter.
Bandai Namco will be getting things started early with Aikatsu Stars! First Appeal. This free-to-play eShop title will arrive in Japan on July 20. “Aikatsu Step” is the only included song, but those who purchase “3DS Music Tickets” through Data Cardass cabinets can play extra tunes like “Heart Skip,” “Dokimeki Raran,” “Summer Tears Diary,” “Popcorn Dreaming,” and more.
Nintendo details Hyper Japan Festival 2016 plans

Nintendo has a whole bunch of plans lined up for Hyper Japan Festival 2016. Along with playable games, a number of activities are in store.
Yo-kai Watch, Monster Hunter Generations, Dragon Quest VII, Fire Emblem, and Pokemon will all be represented in some form or another. Here’s the full rundown of events straight from Nintendo:
In a true celebration of the Japanese phenomenon YO-KAI WATCH® Nintendo will be inviting visitors to step into Springdale, offering them a fully immersive experience and the chance to get involved with a host of YO-KAI WATCH® themed activities. Starting today, Nintendo UK is hosting a unique Fan Art Contest, challenging you to share your artistic interpretation of your favourite Yo-kai in a bid to win a one-off YO-KAI WATCH® prize bundle and have your art prominently showcased on the Nintendo booth at HYPER JAPAN Festival 2016 for all visitors to admire. During HYPER JAPAN Festival 2016, you will have the chance to wander the town of Springdale, take part in the iconic YO-KAI WATCH® dance with Jibanyan in front of a green screen with the opportunity for you to share your creation directly to your social channels*, as well as take part in a Yo-kai Stamp Quest, a mission whereby the first 300 people each day to spot ten hidden Yo-kai located around Springdale on the Nintendo booth (and receive a stamp for each Yo-kai they spot, as well as a stamp for playing the game on the booth) will be rewarded with a YO-KAI WATCH® Medal Mystery Bag*! Aikatsu Stars! My Special Appeal coming to 3DS in Japan

This week’s issue of Famitsu has revealed a new Aikatsu Stars game, titled “Aikatsu Stars! My Special Appeal” will be released on Nintendo 3DS. The idol rhythm game will be released alongside “Aikatsu Stars! Free Appeal”, which will be a free-to-play game. The targeted release date for both games is Summer 2016.
Famitsu promises to provide more information soon. A international release of either game seems fairly unlikely.
Pokémon Shuffle update brings new challenges, item, and missions

The latest Pokémon Shuffle is quite sizable, bringing a few updates to the main game, as well as the usual weekly updates. The Skill Swapper is a new item, which lets certain Pokémon (Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Ho-Oh, Regirock, Celebi, Mew, Rotom, Gengar, Sableye, Ampharos, Eevee, Jolteon, Leafeon, Chespin, Tangela, Tangrowth, Phanpy, Donphan, Cubone, Fafetch’d, Pachirisu, Druddigon, Dedenne, Zoroark and Chandelure) gain a new skill of the player’s choosing. A different set of Pokémon (Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Celebi, Rotom, Pikachu, Jolteon, Leafeon, Chespin, Quilladin, Tangela, Dedenne, Pachirisu, Phanpy, Donphan, Cubone, Marowak, Cofagrigus, Sigilyph, Farfetch’d, Reuniclus and Zoroark) can also now have their levels raised by the Raise Max Level item, and Pokémon Shuffle has given away two Raise Max Levels to celebrate. Furthermore, new Mission Cards have been added.
As for the weekly update, the promised Mega Gyrados challenge has arrived. As with other Mega challenges, this is a competitive stage for players to try and get the appropriate Mega stone. The top 13,000 players in Europe, 19,000 in North America, and 50,000 in Japan will get the Gyradosite, with additional prizes going to even higher placing players. The top 2,500 in Europe, 3,700 in North America, and 10,000 in Japan will get a Mega Speedup, and the top 700 in Europe, 1,000 in North America, and 3,000 in Japan will get a Raise Max Level as well. All players who don’t get the Gyradosite will get an Attack Power, and the top 18,000 in Europe, 19,000 in North America, and 70,000 in Japan will get a Disruption Delay. It will run until July 5th.
Finally, the Hitmonlee, Raikou, and Daily Pokémon (#1) stages are all returning, with the last of those featuring different forms of Rotom. Raikou is available until July 5th, and the other two until July 12th.

Zero Time Dilemma director shares Twitter message for fans

With Zero Time Dilemma releasing, series director Kotaro Uchikoshi has sent a message to the fans via Twitter. The full message, spread out over multiple tweets, reads:
Zero Time Dilemma was made by a small number of staff. I have seen them working very hard day after day within a limited time and asset. I am proud of them. And of course, I am proud of all the fans of ZE series. If there was no passionate action by all the fans, “June 28 in 2016” would become entirely different day from this timeline. I will say over and over again. You guys realized ZTD. The person who made ZTD is you. I really appreciate you. Thank you very much! Now, it’s time to decide. Will you play ZTD or not? The choice is yours.
