Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance characters, demons, systems

Atlus issued another round of details for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance covering characters, demons, and various systems. As usual, we have new screenshots as well.

The full overview is as follows:

November 30 (2022): Nintendo Switch Online previously offered users icons for Splatoon 3, but the game is now a featured title once again. There’ll be five sets that rotate weekly on every Wednesday until January 9, 2023.

As usual, there are characters, backgrounds, and frames to choose from. Each one costs 5 or 10 Platinum Points as earned through My Nintendo. Once you’ve claimed an icon, it’s yours to claim forever – even if your subscription to Nintendo Switch Online expires.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance release date

Atlus has provided an updated release date for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. While we’re typically used to seeing delays, the RPG is actually being brought forward.

The Switch title will now arrive on June 14, 2024. Previously, it was planned for June 21. Atlus is only moving things up a week, but fans will certainly take it.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder unused Wonder Effects prototypes

Nintendo held a session at GDC 2024 today for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and it included a peek behind-the-scenes as information was shared relating to concepts, prototypes, and unused Wonder Effects. Director Shiro Mouri and producer Takashi Tezuka delivered the discussion.

One of the first things we see comes from Nintendo’s brainstorming session. Nintendo’s Koichi Hayashida has previously spoken about how everyone was allowed to submit ideas on sticky notes – the amount of ideas came in at over 2,000. Only a few of the ideas were shown at GDC, but we see things like Mario surfing, the character on a unicycle, and more.

Botany Manor interview

Back in 2022, a cozy-looking first-person puzzle game named Botany Manor was highlighted during one of Nintendo’s Indie World showcases. I had an opportunity to preview the game at PAX West last year, and enjoyed its gardening-based puzzles and the warmth of its lush locale.

Ahead of its release for Switch on April 9, I met with the game’s creative director Laure de May at Day of the Devs San Francisco to chat more about her inspiration for the game, its development, and more. You can read our full discussion below.
