Mario Tennis Aces - Adventure Mode

Mario Tennis Aces received a lot of love from Nintendo and Camelot this week. The company shared details about the demo, uploaded new trailers, and also opened the Japanese website. That site is where a bunch of additional information is provided.

As far as the story goes in Adventure Mode, things begin during the day of a certain tennis tournament. Chaos quickly ensues due to the power of suspicious rackets wielded by Wario and Waluigi. When the uproar has calmed down, Luigi – who was there previously – is nowhere to be found. Wario and Waluigi also suddenly disappeared.

Despite only having just announced it at BitSummit last week, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is releasing next Thursday. Inti Creates will have it ready on both Switch and 3DS.

At BitSummit, USgamer spoke with Inti Creates president Takuya Aizu to talk more about the new title. Aizu commented on how involved Koji Igarashi is (Igarashi himself also had a few words here), how long it has been in development for, and the relationship to the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood

A listing on the European eShop shows that Artifex Mundi is bringing Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood to Switch. A release is planned for May 24.

Enigmatis 2 is a sequel to Enigmatis: The Ghost of Maple Creek, and comes from the developer of Grim Legends. Here’s an introduction to the hidden object puzzle adventure game:

The latest Blessed Gardens map is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes. Starting today, players can challenge Colonnade of Earth.

Also worth noting, Fire Emblem Heroes had its usual Special Maps: Rival Domains update yesterday. Players can earn a bonus for defeating foes with cavalry allies.

Splatoon 2 just wrapped up its first tournament-style Splatfest in the west featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the results are coming a few hours from now). In Japan, a similar event started yesterday involving Sanrio characters.

Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll were the two sides of the first round. We now have the full results below.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Ubisoft issued its latest financial results documents this week. In it, there’s some interesting information listed pertaining to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

First up, a retail version of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Gold Edition could be in the cards. That’s listed for release between April and June of this year. The Gold Edition has been previously available on the eShop.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Last week, there was apparently a major datamine for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Rumored details about upcoming content from the Expansion Pass leaked, including information regarding the story DLC and new Blades.

That wasn’t the only recent datamine for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Moosehunter, who has datamined the RPG previously, also apparently uncovered extra tidbits.

One of the biggest Nintendo rumors to have emerged within the past few days is Star Fox Grand Prix. Retro Studios, developer of the Metroid Prime and latest Donkey Kong Country games, is said to be working on the project.

Taking inspiration from Diddy Kong Racing, Star Fox Grand Prix will apparently feature a hub world and boss battles. The project itself still isn’t confirmed, but a number of outlets have come forward within the past few days pointing to this week’s speculation being valid. However, if this game truly exists, we likely won’t hear about it until E3 – or possibly even in a Nintendo Direct later this year.

Let’s assume for a minute that Star Fox Grand Prix is happening. Based on what we’ve heard, are you willing to give the game a shot? Or are you not interested in the idea of this sort of title? Are there are particular elements that you’d like to see? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

Ikaruga

Earlier in the month, Nicalis announced that Ikaruga is coming to Switch. The reveal was made through social media as well as an official press release.

Had Nicalis had its way, the announcement would have gone down slightly differently. The company actually reached out to Nintendo about revealing the news in a Nintendo Direct, but the Big N “wasn’t interested.”
