Nindies@Night – full recap announcement

Nintendo has sent out an announcement covering all of the news from the Nindies@Night live stream. Read up on it in full below.
During Nintendo’s Nindies@Night event in Seattle, several independent developers revealed new details about their upcoming indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch system. This included the announcement of three new amiibo figures in the Shovel Knight series, as well as additional info from games like Super Meat Boy Forever, Floor Kids, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes and Shovel Knight: King of Cards.
On Aug. 30, Nintendo presented a Nindies Showcase video that covered 20 indie games coming to Nintendo Switch. The Nindies@Night event was an opportunity for several indie developers to speak to attending video game fans in more detail about their upcoming games. Some of these developers included Tommy Refenes from Super Meat Boy Forever, JonJon and Kid Koala from Floor Kids, Suda51 from Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and Sean Velasco and Alec Faulkner from Shovel Knight: King of Cards.

Shovel Knight revealed as next indie game collaboration for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes will feature several collaborations with indie games. One of these will be Shovel Knight, director Suda51 has revealed.
The news was just shared during the Nindies@Night stream. Specifics were not shared, however, as talks between Grasshopper Manufacture and Yacht Club Games appear to be early on. Suda51 lifted his shirt… to show another shirt with Shovel Knight front and center.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is also collaborating with Hotline Miami. We should be hearing about other partnerships in the future.

Square Enix’s TGS 2017 lineup – Project Octopath Traveler news incoming

Square Enix announced Project Octopath Traveler for Switch during the system’s big presentation back in January. However, we haven’t heard much since then. That’s about to change.
Square Enix has opened its official website for the Tokyo Game Show, accessible here. The page already contains a listing of the company’s lineup for the show, and Project Octopath Traveler is indeed included.

My Nintendo adds Metroid: Samus Returns – Samus Aran 3DS theme in North America

A new 3DS themes can now be redeemed on My Nintendo in North America. For 20 Gold Points, the Metroid: Samus Returns – Samus Aran theme can be yours.
The reward is up on My Nintendo here. It’ll be available until October 22.

Nindies@Night 2017 live stream

If yesterday’s Nindies Showcase wasn’t enough, Nintendo has even more indie fun in store for us tonight. The Nindies@Night event in Seattle is underway, and HyperRPG is hosting a stream in collaboration with the Big N. We’ll be seeing gameplay and apparently some announcements as well.
You can watch the stream as it happens below. It should begin at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 5 AM in the UK / 6 AM in Europe.

Miitomo has been updated with more content. Users will find a new stage, along with some brand new items.
“The journey begins again! Miitomo RPG II #1” is the new stage. It includes the following:

An official press release has been sent out for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, which was unveiled during yesterday’s Nindies Showcase. New details are presented in the announcement.
First, in case there was any doubt, Travis Strikes Again is indeed a 3D action title. Travis Touchdown will be wielding his beam katana once again as he takes on waves of enemies, bosses, and Bad Man.
