Watch Dogs team added “a bit of additional content” following delay
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 9 Comments
Watch Dogs has received an updated rating from the OFLC. In Australia, the game has been upgraded to R18+ after earning a MA15+ classification last year.
VG247 reached out to Ubisoft about the new rating, and was told in turn that Watch Dogs’ delay “allowed the team to include a bit of additional content.”
The statement reads:
“The entire development team has been working hard to polish and fine tune Watch Dogs in order to deliver a truly memorable open world game. In parallel, the extra time also allowed the team to include a bit of additional content.
“As per Australian classification guidelines, Ubisoft resubmitted the updated version with the added content to the Australian Classification Board (ACB). The decision to amend the rating of the game from MA15+ to R18+ was made by the ACB.”

WaterMelon once again says Pier Solar HD could hit 3DS, Wii U tidbits
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 0 comments
WaterMelon has reiterated that Pier Solar HD is a possibility for 3DS.
Company president Tulio Adriano Cardoso Gonçalves told RedBull UK:
“We’d like to have supported more platforms at the launch, but we had to draw a line at certain point so that we didn’t lose our focus. Still, there’s a lot of demand for handhelds such as 3DS and PS Vita, so we’ll assess those after the game is launched on the main platforms.”
A few tidbits about the Wii U version of Pier Solar HD have been divulged as well. As far as how the GamePad is being taken advantage of, Gonçalves said:
“On the Wii U you can either use the GamePad as a mirror screen for off-TV play, or as a fully-interactive second screen that will allow you to perform many operations related to your inventory, spells and other new functions new to Pier Solar HD.”

LEGO-branded games sold 1.6 million units in 2013, is currently the second best selling franchise of 2014

Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed today that their LEGO franchise of games– most recently LEGO The Hobbit, which comes out next month– has been a great success for them over the past few years, revealing that it not only sold 1.6 million units last year, but is the number two selling franchise so far in 2014:
“Since the start of 2013, WBIE has sold 1.6 million LEGO games, and it is currently the second biggest game franchise in 2014 year-to-date in terms of units sold, with 420,200 units. Another strong week could see the LEGO game franchise take the number one franchise spot.
“They also completely buck the sales trend with a huge shelf life. LEGO games are no longer seen as kids products and we ensure they’re available on all platforms, both physically and digitally.”
– Warner Bros. Interactive UK sales and marketing director Spencer Crossley
Crossley says he believes strong sales will continue into the new year, and that Warner Bros. has plans to expand the franchise onto new platforms going forward.
