Mr. Saitou

Original (12/6): Mr. Saitou will be released on Switch, it’s been announced. This follows the recent news that Rakuen is heading to the console in March 2023.

Mr. Saitou is the next game in the Rakuen universe. The premise is that following an accident, he’s “spirited away to a strange fantasy world where an unexpected friend takes him on a life-changing adventure.”

Akka Arrh release date

Akka Arrh appears to have a final release date on Switch. According to an eShop listing, it’s due out on February 22, 2023.

Atari announced the arcade wave shooter earlier this month. We knew it was planned for early next year, but a specific date wasn’t shared at the time.

WRC 10 gameplay

Fresh gameplay has emerged following the release of WRC Generations on Switch. Close to a half hour of footage shows off the racer.

Picross X: Picbits vs Uzboross has received a new batch of gameplay. After it initially appeared in Japan, the title saw a worldwide release in other regions a few days ago.

Marvel's Super Hero Squad Smash Bros

The DS version of Marvel’s Super Hero Squad was at one point planned as a Smash Bros.-style game before contractual obligations got in the way. That information comes from Luke Muscat, who worked on the project.

Developer Halfbrick was working with THQ, the game’s publisher, at the time. The title was initially intended to be a brawler, but THQ asked the team to pivot and make it more like Smash Bros. instead. Halfbrick seemed pretty excited about the idea, though had to throw out some previous work. Blocking, rolling, and dodging were all a part of the core gameplay.

In its latest issue, Famitsu revealed the results of the top 20 games of 2022 as voted on by Japanese developers, celebrities, and more. This is a yearly tradition for the magazine.

A few Nintendo-published games made the list, including Splatoon 3 – which just missed the top spot. Pokemon held two spots with Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Scarlet / Violet.

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition physical

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition will be receiving a physical release, retailer listings have revealed. Pages have started to pop up on outlets such as Amazon UK.

It was just this week that Mortal Shell: Complete Edition was not only announced for Switch, but released as well. However, it is thus far limited to the eShop.
