Wild Hearts S differences

Koei Tecmo is revisiting Wild Hearts with a brand new “S” version for Nintendo Switch 2, and on the official website, the publisher outlines all of the differences between the upcoming release and the original.

The big addition is that instead of three players, Wild Hearts S will support four players both locally and online. Some adjustments have also been made.

Below is the full rundown from Koei Tecmo:

Tamagotchi Plaza physical

We’ve got a bit of news for those looking to secure a physical copy of Tamagotchi Plaza. Over in Japan, Bandai Namco will be putting the game out at retail.

Tamagotchi Plaza will be available in boxed form on both Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. For the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, everything is included on the cartridge – it’s not a game-key card release. Also, both Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 will support English alongside Japanese.

Nintendo Genki Switch 2 lawsuit

It’s now come to light that Nintendo is pursuing legal action against Genki, an accessories maker that gained notoriety before the reveal of Switch 2.

Before the system was officially announced earlier in the year, leaks and rumors were flying in left and right. Genki was one such entity that got in on the action. At CES 2025 a few months ago, the company was showing off a Nintendo Switch 2 dummy replica. Nintendo understandably wasn’t too happy with what transpired.

Mario Kart World unconfirmed veterans

With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World fast approaching, it feels like we know a great deal about the new console and its upcoming launch title. However, what we’re most interested in is what we don’t know. Has Nintendo revealed the full roster for the game? Or are there a bunch of unlockable characters that won’t be acknowledged until release day? Whichever winds up being the case, we’re here today to look at all the unconfirmed veterans for Mario Kart World. We’ll also be ranking each one based on how likely they are to return.

Nintendo Accounts portal

As Nintendo Switch 2 approaches and with the release of a big firmware update this release for the company’s current system, something you might want to be made aware of (if you haven’t already) is a new portal site for Nintendo Accounts.

A website for Nintendo Accounts was previously started, which still exists. That site has also seen a few changes, but it currently houses user information, sign in and security settings, the ability to manage Family Groups, privacy and other settings, and a QR code for event check ins. Managing passes, checking on My Nintendo points, and various items related to funds and payments are on the new portal site.

The Shadow Syndicate

Today, KillaSoft announced that it’s developing The Shadow Syndicate for Nintendo Switch 2. The studio did not provide details regarding launch timing.

The Shadow Syndicate is a narrative-driven stealth action game set in a stylized 1930s Brooklyn. Players will sneak, fight, and uncover a dark conspiracy using supernatural powers.

April 2: Nintendo Switch Online made a major announcement today with GameCube games now confirmed for the platform. It will be available alongside launch.

This is the first time that Nintendo will be offering these titles as part of its classics service. During the Virtual Console days, support stopped with the N64. GameCube games have only been sold as individual releases, sometimes as updated remasters.

Original” Nintendo continues updating elements of its brand seemingly in preparation for the Nintendo Switch 2, one of which being the designs of their eShop cards. You can get a look at them in the graphic above.

Posted by Brazilian user @PortalSMario on X, the new cards show off updated renders of classic Mario characters whom also appeared in the previous set. These include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Toad, and Donkey Kong sporting his new Donkey Kong Bananza design. It should be also noted that the new cards seem to be square, in contrast to the previous designs being rectangular.

After years of waiting and mystery, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally getting a playable version. Today, Team Cherry announced that fans will finally get a chance to play the game, but only in Australia for now.

Starting September 18, the game will be available to play at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) as part of an exhibition called Game Worlds. The event will also include displays focused on the game’s design and artistic direction.

The ACMI curators, Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell, spoke about the excitement of having a playable version of Silksong at the exhibition:

It’s time for the newest North American Nintendo Download Switch report for the week of May 1, 2025. The latest releases on the Nintendo eShop include High On Life and more.
