Switch eShop

Nintendo has announced the next Special Battle event for Super Mario Bros. 35. It will feature every Course 3, meaning you’ll get to play on 1-3, 2-3, 3-3, 4-3, 5-3, 6-3, 7-3, and 8-3. Players will start off with 100 coins and 200 ticks on the timer.

The new Special Battle goes live on January 15. It will last until January 18.

Loot Hero DX

Ratalaika Games and VaragtP have announced that Loot Hero DX will be released on Switch next week. The retro-inspired RPG is slated for January 21.

Since Nintendo unveiled its plans for Super Mario’s 35th anniversary back in September, there’s been a Mario theme on the Switch eShop. Things have now changed up slightly.

Boot up on the Switch eShop and you’ll now see Cat Mario running in place. It’s a neat little touch to promote the upcoming release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which is just a month away.


SOLAS 128

SOLAS 128, a rhythm-puzzle game that was announced for Switch last November, has been dated. Armor Games Studios and Amicable Animal today announced that the title is due out on January 25.

MWM Interactive and Hidden Fields today announced that Mundaun, a folklore-inspired horror game, is on the way to Switch. A release is planned for March 16.

Super Mario Bros. 35

Nintendo today announced a new “World Count Challenge” for Super Mario Bros. 35.

A major highlight of the event involves a collective goal. If the number of total Bowsers defeated in the game hits 3.5 million, individual players who defeat at least one Bowser will be eligible to receive 350 My Nintendo Platinum Points.
