Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince battles, monster recruitment

Square Enix today provided more details on Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, including the game’s new battle and monster recruitment system.

The RPG is also available for pre-order. By reserving the game, you’ll receive the Head Start Set which includes several exclusive items.

Here’s the latest from Square Enix:

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster three million

Sales of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series have surpassed three million units, Square Enix just announced. That’s up from the two million milestone announced back in May.

Today’s number applies to the combined performance on Switch, PlayStation 4, and mobile. It should be worldwide sales as well.

The Making of Karateka gameplay

New gameplay is here for The Making of Karateka on Switch. This is a bit of a different release as it’s an interactive documentary for Karateka, which was made by Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner.

A bunch of additional details about the title can be found in the following overview:

PAX West 2023 was made a little more special this year thanks to the presence of Nintendo Live, a massive fan-focused convention celebrating iconic Nintendo games, franchises and hardware. While a similar event has taken place in Japan in recent years, this marked the first time the event has been held in North America. And while tickets were free to the public, they awarded at random to interested PAX West attendees (and people who entered a lottery system via Nintendo’s website), so not everyone who was interested in going was given the opportunity to attend. Fortunately, I was able to check out the event on behalf of Nintendo Everything, and there was a lot to see and do for those willing to wait out the massive crowds.

Another Crusade

Original (7/12): Another Crusade is on the way to Switch, it’s been announced. The title will be available sometime this fall.

Another Crusade, which is inspired by quirky titles like Super Mario RPG, has a 3D wooden puppet-style world with platformer exploration and turn-based combat featuring timing and strategy.

SEGA Atlus TGS 2023

SEGA and Atlus today announced their combined lineup for the 2023 Tokyo Game Show ahead of the event later this month.

For SEGA, in terms of Switch games, Sonic Superstars and Endless Dungeon will be on display. Both will be playable and a trailer will be shown at the company’s booth. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be present as well.

If you’re a longtime fan of Disgea, you’ve probably had the upcoming entry in the series – Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless – on your radar for some time now. It’s a series I’ve always been curious about, but my love for strategy RPGs is somewhat of a recent development, and so I’m still cutting my teeth on the genre as a whole. That’s exactly why I was eager to get a taste of this high-energy franchise at PAX West 2023, and while I only got to sample a small portion of the game, I’m already interested in playing more – if not a bit intimidated by the prospect of it.

It’s been confirmed that Little Nightmares III won’t include couch co-op, and Supermassive’s game director Wayne Garland has now weighed in on the decision.

For the first time in the series, co-op will be supported. However, much to the disappointment of fans, the feature is limited to online. If you’d rather play with a friend locally, you’ll unfortunately be out of luck.

Gravity Game Arise have revealed their lineup for Tokyo Game Show 2023 via their official website. A number of their listed titles will be launching on Switch, including Alterium Shift and River Tails: Stronger Together.

Check out the full lineup as posted on their website below:
