Japanese developers and celebrities vote on top games of 2022

In its latest issue, Famitsu revealed the results of the top 20 games of 2022 as voted on by Japanese developers, celebrities, and more. This is a yearly tradition for the magazine.
A few Nintendo-published games made the list, including Splatoon 3 – which just missed the top spot. Pokemon held two spots with Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Scarlet / Violet.

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition getting a physical release on Switch

Mortal Shell: Complete Edition will be receiving a physical release, retailer listings have revealed. Pages have started to pop up on outlets such as Amazon UK.
It was just this week that Mortal Shell: Complete Edition was not only announced for Switch, but released as well. However, it is thus far limited to the eShop.
Source of Madness getting a physical release on Switch

Super Rare Games, in partnership with publisher Thunderful and developer Carry Castle, confirmed today that it will soon offer Source of Madness as a physical release on Switch.
The game will be offered standalone as well as in the form of a Steelbook Edition, each one limited to 2,000 copies. The standard release includes all the current content on their cart, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards. The Steelbook edition features everything we just mentioned as well as a special case.
Fire Emblem Engage introduces Lucina

To close out the week, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems are highlighting Lucina for Fire Emblem Engage – another classic hero. The series’ Japanese Twitter account shared the news and SatsumaFS provided translations.
Lucina, known as the Emblem of Awakening, is a holy princess who believes in hope and never falls to despair. The character is at her best when fighting alongside allies. She has powerful offense and defense when allies are nearby.

The Wonderful 101: Remastered shares sneak peek of upcoming Luka’s Mission DLC

Back when PlatinumGames held its Kickstarter for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, one of the stretch goals that backers were able to reach was a set of DLC featuring Luka as its main character, aptly titled Luka’s Mission. Even though it hasn’t been detailed up until this point, PlatinumGames has finally decided to share a small minute-long sneak peek at this DLC.
Sadly, there aren’t too many details to latch onto from this video, but it does provide a first look at a development build for the DLC. It will be a 2D side scrolling adventure game, and we can see a focus on platforming and shooting elements in the video. Again, no additional details or release date were confirmed, but it’s good to see that work is steadily progressing on these last few Kickstarter goals.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate ships over 500,000 copies worldwide

Today, Spike Chunsoft provided an update on sales of Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate. Between shipments and digital sales, the game has surpassed 500,000 copies worldwide. This figure is for all platforms.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate previously came to Switch at the end of 2020. Originally, it was made for DS in 2010.
Nintendo Switch Online icons returning as daily special rewards

Nintendo Switch Online is doing a little something different for its latest user icons promotion. Starting today, elements for multiple games will be returning on a daily basis. That means you’ll have a chance to obtain icons you missed out previously.
Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario Strikers: Battle League, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, NES, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Kirby’s Dream Buffet are making a return. Out of this batch, it looks like Kirby and the Forgotten Land is first up. You can see the full schedule below.
