A Wii U rating for the first Super Mario Galaxy has appeared on the ESRB. Based on that information, we could be seeing an eShop release soon as a Wii download.

Wii U owners in Japan have had access to Super Mario Galaxy since late May. While the second entry is out in all territories, the original one has yet to come west.

Digital Foundry’s latest technical analysis focuses on FAST Racing Neo, Shin’en’s just-released racer on the Wii U eShop.

Overall, the studio managed to put out a fantastic technical showpiece. FAST Racing Neo usually manages to maintain 60 frames per second with only small dips on a few tracks. The only downside stems from a compromise in rendering resolution. But thanks to the use of some great techniques and clever programming, Wii U owners now have an “impressive looking racer” which features “a blistering frame-rate and beautiful visual design.”

Next week, Drill Dozer will be available on the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console. There’s an interesting feature packed in with this particular release. Just like on the Game Boy Advance, rumble will be supported. It’s quite neat that Nintendo ended up including the functionality!

A listing on PEGI, a ratings board in Europe, reveals that Choice Provisions is working on a Wii U version of Tharsis. The company previously expressed interest in porting it over, but this is the first confirmation we have that it’s actually happening. An official announcement will likely be made soon.

If you haven’t heard of Tharsis before, the following overview should come in handy:

“Earth’s first Mars mission should have been 300 days to glory. But Yuri only made it to 170, and we lost Allison after 105. Turns out, life in space is just that: life, with moods and jealousies and infuriating little failures. Only you’re a few million miles from civilization, so humanity’s frailties also happen to be deadly.

Tharsis is a turn-based, perma-death, realistic space strategy game. With dice. And cannibalism. It puts you in control of the first-ever mission to Mars, just as it’s struck by a meteor storm.

But some part of you knows this landing is possible. In fact, the more you think about those signals from the Tharsis region, the less you believe you’d be first to set foot there…
