As is the case in Europe, Bomberman 64 is heading to the North American Wii U Virtual Console this week. Nintendo’s website has it listed for tomorrow.
Here’s a brief overview from the page:
“The evil Altair is using the Omni Cube to drain the energy from Planet Bomber. With the aid of a mysterious helper, you must defeat Altair, and restore peace to Planet Bomber. In the Adventure mode, guide Bomberman through twenty-four areas of perilous conflict. Battle Altair’s sinister allies, destroy their bases, and put an end to the insane attack. The multi-player Battle mode offers endless explosive action!”
Bomberman 64 will set you back $9.99.

Lobodestroyo still planned for Wii U as of now
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments
Lobodestroyo was funded on Kickstarter way back on 2013. We’re still waiting on its release, but Wii U owners will be happy to hear that it’s still on track for the console.
Lefthanded Games wrote in a website update that Lobodestroyo will eventually hit Wii U so long as development on the platform remains open to indies. However, if the team is forced to migrate to Switch by the time work finishes, then that would be the next move. Kickstarter backers will also be able to change their platform if they aren’t satisfied with the final result.
Lefthanded Games’ full comments on the matter:
“With development running past the transition between Nintendo consoles we are going to need to modify our initial promise to backers. We absolutely intend to have Lobo playable on your Nintendo, whatever the console of the time might be. If Wii U development is still open to indies, then we will still push to Wii U. If we are forced to migrate to Switch by the time Lobo is in a releasable state, then we will release there. If those platforms are not what a backer originally intended/wanted we will endeavor to migrate their copy to a console they will be happy with.
It all comes down to the simple fact that despite being stuck in development limbo, we want to keep everyone happy. And to that effect, when it comes time to start sending out our game to the world, we will do whatever we need to so that our dedicated supporters can enjoy it how they would like.”

Bomberman 64 hitting the European Wii U Virtual Console on Thursday
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 6 Comments
Bomberman 64 is making its way to the European Wii U Virtual Console on Thursday, Nintendo’s website confirms. It will be the US version of the game.
Here’s an overview:
“How many jobs are there out there where one gets paid to toss bombs around, blowing up everything in your path? The evil Altair has wrested control of the Omni Cube (which allows its holder to possess the tremendous power of the universe), and it’s up to Bomberman to get it back.”
And a trailer:
Bomberman 64 was rumored to hit the European Wii U Virtual Console this week after it was listed by ShopTo. That was apparently correct after all.

UK retailer ShopTo lists Bomberman 64 for March 9 release on the Wii U Virtual Console
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 8 Comments
A classic Bomberman title could be making its way to Europe next week. If a listing from UK retailer ShopTo is to be believed, Bomberman 64 will be out for the Wii U Virtual Console on March 9.
While folks are starting to move on from Wii U, bringing Bomberman 64 to the Virtual Console may make some sense. Bomberman ’94 just came out last month, and interest in the series has picked up due to the release of Super Bomberman R on Switch.
Thanks to Alan for the tip.
