Wii U

At GDC today, Splatoon and Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami is hosting a special panel. The talk was highlighted by showing prototypes for the first game.

When Nintendo was first developing Splatoon, we heard in an Iwata Asks interview series that the team messed around with various concepts and ideas like tofu and rabbits. We now have new images and details about what took place during development.

My Nintendo has added in a number of rewards in Europe. Along with discounts, a few 3DS themes are now available.

Nintendo has penciled in some last-minute maintenance for three of its platforms. Switch, Wii U, and 3DS will be impacted for a couple of hours tonight / tomorrow.

The schedule is as follows:

– 10 PM PT (March 15) – 12 AM PT (March 16)
– 1 AM ET (March 16) – 3 AM ET (March 16)
– 5 AM in the UK (March 16) – 7 AM in the UK (March 16)
– 6 AM in Europe (March 16) – 8 AM in Europe (March 16)

The British Academy Games Awards – otherwise known as BAFTA – announced its nominees for its 2018 Game Awards today. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is included in five different categories while Super Mario Odyssey is in three. Both are nominated for “Best Game”.

For the “Family” category, almost all of the nominees are on Switch. They include Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Snipperclips, the latter of which is also up for “Game Innovation”.


Nintendo has updated its maintenance schedule once again, showing that a bunch of additional maintenance is planned for tonight. Sessions are planned for Pokemon Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, the first Splatoon, and more.

At least for now, Linkle only exists in the world of Hyrule Warriors. But now fans have brought the character over to Zelda: Breath of the Wild through a new mod in the Wii U version.

Dario Rolle, who made the mod, makes it so Linkle is reskinned as Link. Aside from looking different, facial animations and light voice acting have been added.

Original: Following Xenoblade Chronicles 2 earlier this week, Nintendo announced today that they will also release the official soundtrack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in Japan. Releasing on April 25, it will come in two version: a first print limited edition and a standard edition.
