A listing on the Xbox Store reveals the existence of “Episode Shadow” DLC for Sonic Forces. In it, players will “uncover the untold story of the new villain, Infinite, and rediscover three updated stages playing as Shadow.” You’ll also be able to play as Shadow in over ten Modern Sonic based stages.

SEGA has not yet officially announced the Episode Shadow DLC for Sonic Forces. However, we do know that news about the game will be shared this week. The news blast may cover the DLC news or something else entirely.

Japan is getting two pieces of Splatoon 2 merchandise in November that are sure to be extremely popular: the official soundtrack (Splatune 2) and an art book.

The soundtrack will feature all songs from the game in addition to various sound effects and jingles. It will also come with a jacket for each of the in-universe bands, a roundtable discussion with Wet Floor (one of those bands), an interview with Marina, comments from the developers as well as a Splatoon-themed guitar pick. The soundtrack will cost 3,200 Yen.

The art book obviously features a ton of art from the game, including character design concept art, fashion design sketches, logos and more. Here are some preview images:

The latest Pokken Tournament DX character trailer is here, and this one focuses on Garchomp. Give it a watch:

System: Switch
Release date: September 22, 2017
Developer:: Bandai Namco
Publisher: Nintendo

In what feels like an annual tradition now, Pokken Tournament will be making another debut following its initial 2015 release in arcades, then 2016 for Wii U, and now in 2017 on Switch. While the Wii U version was missing a few Pokemon from the arcade version for whatever reason, the game itself presented a fun and unique take on mixing great elements from Tekken and Soulcalibur and infusing them with the world of Pokemon. For fighting fans and Pokemon enthusiasts, it was a great game to own and add to your Wii U library, and, while not entirely robust, certainly kept the attention and fun for a while following its release. The Switch port, Pokken Tournament DX, aims to be the “deluxe”, or definitive, version of the game much like how Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is. But unlike Mario Kart 8 Deluxe where it felt like a genuine upgrade on Switch riding its way from the Wii U, Pokken Tournament DX fails to deliver any plausible reason to jump in for round 2 unless you didn’t own a Wii U or skipped out the first time around.

Azure Striker Gunvolt developer Inti Creates has revealed another new game for Switch. This winter, we’ll be seeing the shooter Gal*Gun 2 on Nintendo’s console.

The premise of Gal*Gun 2 involves a young man “who accidentally becomes supernaturally popular with girls.” You’ll be searching for his one true love in the game using the Pheromone Shot. Since all of the girls at at his academy want their chance to be with him, they “will do whatever they can to express their love”. That’s where the Pheromone Shot comes into play. You’ll need to use the weapon to fend off the girls’ advances by “by giving them euphoria”.

Additional details and images straight from Inti Creates are attached below.

It took slightly longer than expected, but the new Cave Story+ update has gone live in North America.

After applying the patch, you’ll see the addition of co-op. Two players can play through the game together locally.

Nicalis confirmed that the update has been pushed out on Twitter:

Project Octopath Traveler reemerged during last week’s Nintendo Direct following its initial announcement in January. Amazingly, a demo of the game even hit the eShop.

Nintendo UK highlighted the demo’s availability in a news post on its official website today. Towards the end, Nintendo says that Project Octopath Traveler is launching in Spring 2018.

Could this be an error? Absolutely. We’ll just have to wait and see. We’ve only heard on the record that Project Octopath Traveler is planned for 2018, but if Nintendo UK is correct, it’ll be releasing closer to the start of 2018 rather than towards the end of the year.

Update: Even more stuff up for pre-order here. Fire Emblem Warriors Special Edition, Mario Odyssey amiibo, Doom, Mario Party: The Top 100, orange / white New 2DS XL, and more.

Original: Amazon Canada has started up pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition. If you’d like to place an order, you can do so here. The game launches on December 1.

NBA 2K18’s launch hasn’t been entirely smooth. One big issue players have encountered pertains to corrupted and lost save data. It’s definitely an issue on Switch, but all versions of NBA 2K18 are affected.

On the bright side, we should be seeing a patch to address the situation soon. It’s not entirely clear when that will happen, but we’ll watch over the situation.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle creative director Davide Soliani provided a humorous look at the game’s development today. On Twitter, he shared an early animation from the team created two years ago.

Here’s the clip:

Recognize the music and poses? That’s right: this is a funny play on the Sailor Moon anime.
