This weekend, Nintendo hosted a special Halloween-themed event in Splatoon 2. The big highlight was a new Splatfest, which was held worldwide.

The topic was the same in all regions. Players were asked to be on either Team Trick or Team Treat. After two days of battles, Nintendo has shared the full results.

C2 Game Studio has announced Project Monolith, a new game in development for Switch. A release window has not yet been announced.

We have the first teaser trailer for Project Monolith below. Based on the footage shown, Project Monolith will feature exploration, real-time combat, and more.

A number of new deals are up and running on the North American Switch eShop. These include Okami HD, NBA 2K19, Aegis Defenders, Bomber Crew, and more.

It took a few months longer than originally expected, but Dark Souls: Remastered has finally arrived on Switch. Digital Foundry has taken a closer look at the game from a technical perspective in a new video published today.

One thing to keep in mind is that Dark Souls for Switch is based on the last-gen version. That means it doesn’t feature the higher frame rate as the newer PlayStation 4 / Xbox One editions or their visual improvements. As Digital Foundry describes it, Dark Souls on Switch is the “authentic” version presented as it was many years ago.

Another round of Nintendo maintenance is planned for the coming week. Switch, the eShops, and more will be impacted during certain periods.

The current schedule is as follows:

Nintendo updated a handful of child’s safety certificates for various Smash Bros. amiibo this month. These include Sheik, Captain Falcon, Wii Fit Trainer, Marth, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Lucario, Zelda, and Peach. Aside from Peach, each figure has an additional September 2018 manufacturing run listed.

Often with these certificate updates, it’s a sign that restocks are on the horizon. Keep an eye out for the aforementioned figures making a return to retailers in the near future.
