Poi is a tribute to the nearly forgotten exploratory 3D platformer. Nearly, that is, if 2017 hadn’t seen a sudden resurgence of the genre with Yooka-Laylee, A Hat in Time and, of course, Super Mario Odyssey. Poi isn’t inventive – it’s nostalgic to a fault. It hasn’t made strides to progress past Super Mario 64’s game flow of hub world-to-level-to-hub world. Even within that flow there aren’t many ideas or mechanics that haven’t already been thoroughly explored in past 3D Mario games, to the point where Poi stop being referential and becomes just plain derivative. Taken on these terms the game isn’t remarkable, but it’s not trying to be remarkable. It’s a throwback.

The results are in for the latest European Splatfest. Players were asked if they prefer having a warm or cold breakfast.

It was a close battle all around. Votes as well as solo and team battles were separated by just a few points in the end. However, Team Warm Breakfast won the popularity vote as well as solo battles, leading them to a 2-1 victory.

A ton of footage for the upcoming Switch game Attack on Titan 2 has emerged from Paris Games Week. Have a look at the gameplay below.

Dual audio may not be out of the question for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Kaveh Moussaivan, product analyst at Nintendo of Europe, was asked about the possibility, while demoing the game for JVTV.

Moussaivan said the following:

GamesIndustry has new information about gaming sales in the UK for October 2017. The top publishers in order were EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, and Warner Bros. Super Mario Odyssey provided Nintendo with a boost despite being on the market for just a couple of days.

Switch accounted for 10 percent of all boxed games sold in October. Although that may seem low, it’s the system’s best result since April.

Continuing with the regular pattern, Nintendo and Monolith Soft have shown off another rare Blade from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Today’s reveal is Idaten, who has been designed by I-IV and voiced by Aya Hirano.
