XSEED has found itself in a bind with Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns’ downloadable content. The new content could either be sold as paid DLC, or abandoned entirely.

XSEED explained a blog post:

“The total size of the DLC is over 200,000 Japanese characters, making it as large as some games we’ve released. The first Corpse Party, for example, has about 210,000 characters.

The last round of DLC was released in Japan in mid-December, which means that the Japanese text was completed after we’d entered the QA and submission phase of localizing the main game. With DLC of this size, including it in the game would have been impossible under our schedule. It would have forced us to release months after we’d originally planned.

This week’s episode of Nintendo Minute has gone live. In today’s episode, Kit and Krysta share their experience at Defenders of the Triforce. Check it out below.

Monster Couch is looking to bring Die for Valhalla! to Switch, developer Monster Couch said today. Actual development on the system has yet to begin, but the team is looking into obtaining a dev kit and will attempt to have it ready alongside other platforms.

Monster Couch describes its game as “a beat ’em up with a paranormal twist.” You play as the ghostly witch Valkyrie, who has been sent to help Vikings save their world.

The Die for Valhalla! Kickstarter page shares the following information:

“You summon heroes from Valhalla and make them hack, slash and crush. Your job is to make sure they take down as many enemies as possible before they Die for Valhalla!

You will also discover tales about Vikings and their Myths. As a Valkyrie, you will seek the truth about yourself and the nature of the world. Things are not always what they seem.”

Speaking of Kickstarter, Die for Valhalla! is indeed seeking some funding at the moment. About half of the $5,600 goal has been raised so far.

Sensor Tower is reporting that Fire Emblem Heroes has already earned over $2.9 million in worldwide gross revenue and been downloaded more than two million times in its first day. In terms of revenue, it’s behind Pokemon GO ($10.2 million) and Super Mario Run ($8.4 million), but above Clash Royale ($1.4 million). Fire Emblem Heroes is right up there with Clash Royale regarding downloads, though about one-half of Pokemon GO and one-quarter of Super Mario Run.

Sensor Tower adds that “the overwhelming majority of downloads and revenue for Fire Emblem Heroes has come from Japan, with the United States ranking as its second-place territory.” The game is already the 17th ranked iPhone app in terms of revenue on the U.S. App Store.

The Legend of Zelda is a big part of First 4 Figures’ product lineup, so it’s no surprise that the company has more figures planned.

In an interview with Zelda Universe, the company teased more additions to the Twilight Princess line. Along with Trueform Midna, it sounds like we could be getting a 1:4-scale statue of Link.

The new Breath of the Wild Link statue due out within the next few weeks also comes with a leaflet teasing two figures. Silhouettes appear to show Link riding a horse and the Sheikah Slate.

Senran Kagura Burst could have ended up with a very different boxart for Europe. Originally, PQube was toying around with an idea that “would have featured Hikage, and would have had a plastic sleeve around the box that would slide off. Hikage’s out clothing would have been on the sleeve only, so that peeling off the sleeve would mimic Senran Kagura‘s well-known clothing destruction feature.”

The image below is what PQube went with for the final product. While the initial idea was abandoned, head of marketing Geraint Evans says it could be revisited at some point.

A new piece of concept art from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has shown up on the official series Facebook page. This time around, Nintendo has shown off the lift entrance to Shrines of Trials.

Here’s what Nintendo has to say about the image:

“This concept art showcases the design of the lift entrance to Shrines of Trials, which are located in variety of locations throughout the land of Hyrule. In the center, there’s a Sheikah Eye symbol.”

Thanks to ZadeHart for the tip.

Update: For what it’s worth, here’s a look at what things look like when you throw PS4 and Xbox One into the mix:

Original: Data collected by Google Trends indicates that consumers have a much bigger interest in Switch compared to its predecessor, the Wii U. The phrase “pre order Nintendo Switch” is seeing roughly five times the number of searches as “pre order Wii U” prior to launch. The latter phrase only experienced about 20 percent of the number of searches that the former one has had. Also, the term “Wii U” only had had more searches than the current data for “Nintendo Switch” during the week of its launch.

It’s worth noting that “pre order Wii” earned roughly 47 percent of what Switch is receiving now. However, we should point out that things were much different in 2006, as online shopping / pre-ordering wasn’t nearly as prominent as it is now.

It took a few tries, but a Pokemon Global Mission has finally been successful. Pokemon Sun/Moon players were tasked with making one million trades at the GTS, and it looks like that goal has been reached. Players will receive 2,000 Festival Coins as a result.

You still have until February 14 at 00:00 UTC to participate. If two million trades are registered by then, a Friend Ball will also be given out as a reward.

Data miners are up to their usual tricks, and have already poked through the files of Fire Emblem Heroes following its launch yesterday. A few interesting images have been discovered showing Tharja and Robin wearing Christmas outfits.

Some fans wonder of these images were intended to be used as part of a Christmas campaign in 2016. Fire Emblem Heroes only just came out yesterday, but Nintendo was originally planning on having it ready by the end of last year.
