8-4 is teaming up with Nintendo once again. This time around, the two companies are collaborating on the localization of Fire Emblem Echoes.

John Ricciardi from 8-4 told one fan on Twitter recently:

8-4 last worked on Fire Emblem for Fire Emblem Awakening’s western release. Prior to that, the team also handled Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on DS.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Switch has all sorts of different ways of playing. With Hamster’s Arcade Archives series, it looks like you can actually have a setup in which the screen is displayed vertically. This was discovered with the latest Neo Geo release, Neo Turf Masters, but it applies to the other titles as well.

The screen option admittedly doesn’t have a tremendous amount of use here. In the future though, it’ll be interesting to see if any other Switch games are made with a vertical format in mind.

Hwang touched on “the various UX and visual design choices that were shaped by a focus on real-world gaming, and how they led to a fun and accessible play experience for a diverse set of players across age and gender demographics.”

The full recording for Hwang’s session is now online. You can watch the full talk below.
