Akatsuki: Lord of the Dawn

Zoo Corporation is putting Akatsuki: Lord of the Dawn on Switch next week, the company has announced. It’s scheduled to arrive on March 28, 2024.

Akatsuki: Lord of the Dawn is a real-time RPG in which players form parties from a large variety of characters as well as use various military formations and techniques to take down enemies. More information can be found in the following overview:

Metacritic 2023 game publisher rankings

Metacritic published its annual game publisher rankings this week, and we now have the results for the 2023 edition. This gives us insight into how different companies stack up each other based on the quality of their releases and reviews.

Looking at Nintendo, the publisher rose again last year. After moving from #14 to #12 previously, the Big N is now all the way at #6.

Super Mario Run Princess Peach Showtime

A new Princess Peach: Showtime event has just started up in Super Mario Run.

Missions tied to the new Switch title are now appearing. Players can complete them to earn in-game statues of Peach transformed into her ensembles. If you complete three missions, you’ll get the Patisserie Peach Statue. Finishing six nets you the Swordfighter Peach Statue. Finally, at nine missions, you’ll receive the Peach & Stella Statue. All of these are brand new items in Super Mario Run.

Isshiki Otsutsuki Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections

Isshiki Otsutsuki will be added to Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections as a new DLC character, Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 announced today. He’ll be ready to go on March 28, 2024.

On the same day, new costumes and other items will be offered as part of DLC Pack 2. Boruto Uzumaki (Time Travel) and Sasuke Uchiha (Time Travel) are coming as new costumes, there’ll be additional matching voices / special messages (12), and five Ninja Info Card images.

Another new Splatoon 3 update is rolling out, bringing the game to version 7.1.0.

The main focus here is the addition of a new song for the upcoming Splatfest. The song in question should be Suffer No Fools, which was shown off in a video earlier today. Some slight changes to Salmon Run and additional bug fixes will also be implemented. Players can expect the next update to be announced in mid-April, focusing on changes to battles.

New data from Circana gives us a look at the best-selling games of February 2024 specifically on Switch.

Nintendo holds eight of the top ten spots (which includes Minecraft as it handles some publishing duties on the system). Mario vs. Donkey Kong, which was the #11 overall seller across all platforms last month, is #1 specifically on Switch. Hogwarts Legacy and Just Dance 2024 Edition are the only non-Nintendo-published games at #4 and #6 respectively.

Farewell North

Today, publisher Mooneye Studios and developer Kyle Banks confirmed that Farewell North will be released on Switch. The game is due out on August 15, 2024.

Farewell North is an open world adventure game where you play as a border collie traveling with his owner while you restore color to desolate islands. For more information, check out the following overview:

Tchia

Tchia is on the way to Switch, publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Awaceb just revealed. It’ll be launching sometime this summer.

Tchia is a tropical open-world adventure game that’s earned quite a bit of praise. The game has climbing, gliding, swimming, and sailing aspects.
