Some have wondered whether or not Fire Emblem Engage will support amiibo. In the game’s latest Japanese trailer as well as an official tweet (get a quick look here), that news was confirmed.

amiibo essentially works in two ways. The more notable feature is that by scanning a Fire Emblem figure, you’ll receive a costume based on that character plus a music track from the game they appear in. Other amiibo are compatible as well, and while it’s less exciting, you’ll at least receive items that can help you during your adventure.

Nintendo has announced a Holiday Tour as the next major event for Mario Kart Tour. This is set to go live in the mobile game on December 14, 2022.

Obviously the main attraction here is that Mario Kart Tour is getting into the holiday spirit. You can see what’s planned for the event in the trailer below.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris has received a new update, bringing the game to version 3.12. This update is relatively minor, addressing a few bug fixes and adding some new options to the Incarnation Shard Exchange.

Nintendo has shared an announcement recapping all of its news from The Game Awards 2022.

The company brought two notable reveals to the show. Along with Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, information was shared about the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass.

A final release date has been announced for Colossal Cave, a re-imagining of the original celebrated text adventure by Will Crowther and Don Woods. The title is set to hit Switch on January 19, 2023.

Colossal Cave was previously announced for Switch in August. The game has technically been delayed as it was originally planned for this year.

Over thirty categories were a part of this year’s show. The big prize was Game of the Year, and while Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was nominated, it wasn’t selected. There were some notable Switch winners though, including Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Most Anticipated, Bayonetta 3 for Best Action, Splatoon 3 for Best Multiplayer, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for Best Sim/Strategy, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land for Best Family.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie made an appearance at The Game Awards 2022 tonight. Keegan-Michael Key, the voice of Toad, stopped by to show off a new clip.

Toad naturally had a big focus here. In the clip, Mario is introduced to the big city as he makes his way into the Mushroom Kingdom.

Fire Emblem Engage is getting an Expansion Pass, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have revealed.

A total of four waves are planned. The first round, scheduled for January 20, will include the Emblem character Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, Emblem character Tiki, in-game support items, in-game accessories, and a silver card.

The Game Awards 2022 has provided a first look at Earthblade, the next game from the creators of Celeste. The “explor-action platformer” is set to launch in 2024.
