Atlus

Atlus recently published an interview on the game’s Japanese blog with director Shinjiro Takada and art director Akiko Kotoh. Siliconera has now provided a translation.

Takada and Kotoh touched on Record Breaker’s subtitle, Durarara!! guest characters, and more. You can find the full roundup below.

On the Record Breaker subtitle…

“I can’t give you the deeper meaning behind it today. As for subtitles, during the development of part 1, we named it Overclocked when we released it for the 3DS, which I believe gave it a strong sense and a feeling of ‘surpassing its predecessor’.” – Kotoh

“The [Record Breaker] subtitle has some deep roots in the story, so it’s kind of difficult to comment on that…There are actually several meanings behind it, so please check it out for yourselves once you get to play it.” – Takada

Are you one of those folks who likes trying things before buying? Then you’ll be happy to hear that a Citizens of Earth demo is on the way. Atlus will make the download available in North America next week.

Players will be able to get their hands on Shizuo Heiwajima, who uses a special move where he uses traffic signs, cars, and vending machines that have various effects. Head past the break due to Twitch auto-play!

A mix of free and paid DLC for Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker is out now in Japan.

We previously mentioned that the 3DS game would feature characters from the Durarara!! anime series. Izaya Orihara, who has Blade Attack’s Blind Spot as a skill (a physical attack to inflict Shock status on an enemy), can be downloaded for free. Shizuo Heiwajima is due out on February 5.

Also free to download is a survival mission in which players defend a demon to befriend, plus a Beginner’s Map that makes it easier to earn macca and complete the demon compendium.

In terms of paid DLC, players can purchase four maps. One makes it easier to get add-ons, another gives players a great deal macca if they defeat demons running away, the third makes it easier to gain experience, and the fourth is a map with memory cards to learn skills. Maps are priced at 150 yen each.
