monster hunter rise sunbreak review

System: Switch
Release Date: June 30, 2022
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom

Monster Hunter Rise brought seamless zones to Nintendo’s hybrid console last year in the spring, shipping over nine million units between then and now. With our Hunter leaving Kamura for Sunbreak’s fresh new Elgado, how does the expansion for Rise fare?

Nintendo has just confirmed that the trio of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak amiibo will now be releasing on August 12 in Australia and New Zealand. While these figures have already released in several territories worldwide, they had been delayed to a September release in Australia and New Zealand, before now being pushed back up to an August release.

The three amiibo are Malzeno, “Canine Malzeno” Palamute and “Felyne Malzeno” Palico figures, each unlocking an exclusive set of cosmetic layered armor for your Hunter, Palamute and Palico respectively. For those interested, pre-orders of the three amiibo are live now, available either through EB Games or the My Nintendo Store here.

Monster Hunter Rise Elgado Packs items

Capcom is celebrating the latest sales milestone for Monster Hunter Rise with two new item packs – specifically the Elgado Packs.

With the first one, players will receive 10 ancient potions, 20 dango tickets, 20 dash juices, 5 heavy armor spheres and 5 silver eggs. The second one contains 50 mega potions, 30 well-done steaks, 20 large barrel bombs, 10 mega demondrugs and 10 mega armorskins.

Capcom has announced that shipments and digital sales for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak have already surpassed 2 million units globally. This is based on its combined sales for both the Switch and PC versions.

Furthermore, Capcom has also confirmed that the base game, Monster Hunter Rise, has sold over 10 million units globally, a success partially attributed to its series ongoing free updates, PC launch earlier this year and the release of Sunbreak itself. This is following up on prior announcements of the game breaching 8 million units sold in January and 9 million sold in May.
