Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion was announced several months ago, but we haven’t seen any footage from the game. That recently changed when Amazon France posted a pre-alpha video.

Here’s the video as uploaded to YouTube:

It should be noted that since the footage is pre-alpha, it’s not entirely representative of the final product. Still, it gives us a general look at Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion in motion, the voice acting, and more.

A couple of months ago, Outright Games announced Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion. It’s a promising-looking title, with development being handled by Silent Hill: Shattered Memories developer Climax Studios.

We now have a bunch of additional details and screenshots. The latest content gives us a first look at combat for example, which features a “fast-paced, turn-based combat system”.

Here’s the full overview:

Last month, Outright Games announced Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion. The new game will be coming to Switch in Spring 2018. It remains to be seen how the project will turn out, but it sounds promising at least.

One interesting element about the new Adventure Time is the developer behind it. Climax Studios is actually working on the game. They’ve been a bit quiet in more recent years, but you may know the team as the creator of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

It’s also worth pointing out that Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion won’t be a full-priced game at launch. Various retailers such as Amazon have it at $40 as opposed to $60

Today, Climax Studios posted the image you see above on their Twitter account, apparently confirming that their game Riftstar Raiders is coming to Switch. Riftstar Raiders is a 2D shoot’em’up game with a heavy emphasis on customization. It also features four player co-op gameplay.

We don’t have any more concrete details on the Switch version at the moment, such as a release date, but hopefully we’ll soon hear more from Climax Studios.

YouTube user PtoPOnline has unearthed an interesting pitch from Silent Hill: Shattered Memories developer Climax Studios. During the GameCube era, the company was hoping Nintendo would give the green light on Diddy Kong Racing Adventure.

Big plans were in store for Diddy Kong Racing Adventure even though Nintendo decided not to go ahead with the pitch. Climax had a story in mind, with the intent of bringing back the Adventure Mode and multiple vehicles from the original Diddy Kong Racing. Also in place was a mount system so that players could move positions on their vehicle or move to a separate one entirely. Climax was looking to include fourteen different characters with unique attacks for each as well. 4-player multiplayer, along with a slew of other modes, were also in the pipeline.

Plenty of additional details about Diddy Kong Racing Adventure can be found in the video below.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories developer Climax Studios once created a couple of DS prototypes based on the Harry Potter franchise. Neither one saw a lengthy period of development.

Climax’s first pitch was for a Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire game. The demo was simple, with players being able to control Harry, Ron, or Hermione while drawing spells on the touch screen. Development ended after just a few weeks.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Dumbledore’s Army also didn’t last long, as work on the project was scrapped after just four days. It sounded like Climax had some ambitious plans here, as the team would have liked to include a fully-explorable Hogwarts, online versus modes, a co-op action mode, and the ability to take care of familiars similar to that of Pokemon.

Here’s a look at both prototypes shown by PtoPOnline:

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories was originally a very different game. Konami was initially pitched “Silent Hill: Cold Heart” by developer Climax Studios.

Cold Heart did retain some elements from Shattered Memories such as themes of ice and cold. However, mostly everything else was changed. Combat, for instance – something absent from Shattered Memories – was planned for Cold Heart. The game also wasn’t originally intended to be a reimagining of the first Silent Hill.

Check out the gallery below for a look at Climax’s 14-page pitch to Konami.
