Pokemon Sword/Shield

Update: Though it wasn’t mentioned in Nintendo’s patch notes, the update also addresses issues relating to hacked Pokemon. Read more about the situation here.

Following the previous update for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield in January, both games have been updated again. The latest patch is version 1.1.1.

If you were looking for something major this time around, you’ll unfortunately be disappointed. Nintendo says of today’s update: “Fixed several issues to improve gameplay experience.”

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are getting their first DLC, The Isle of Armor, in June as part of the Expansion Pass. The Crown of Tundra will follow this fall.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield have updated their Wild Area event. Gigantamax Snorlax is back in action alongside the additions of Gigantamax Machamp and Gigantamax Gengar. We should also note that Toxtricity, Grimmsnarl, Hatteren, Kingler, and Orbeetle have left the boosted raids.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available on Switch.

While the video is exclusively in Japanese, the over five minutes of footage shows different Pokemon NPC’s you can interact with in the central town hub, such as Genghis Khan, Wigglytuff, and Makuhita. Additionally, a few beginning story sections are shown, but again they are in Japanese only.

You can check out the full video below.

Tying in with Pokemon Day, a brand new Mythical Pokemon has been revealed for Pokemon Sword/Shield. The Dark/Grass-type monster is known as Zarude.

Here’s the first official information on Zarude:

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are celebrating Pokemon Day with a special event. Starting today, Mewtwo will be appearing in Max Raid Battles in addition to starters from Kanto. Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, Kingler, Hatterene, Orbeetle, and Toxtricity may show up as well.

Keep in mind that you can’t actually catch Mewtwo. However, by taking it down, you’ll earn high-quality rewards.

The event with Mewtwo and Kanto starters runs until March 2nd. We have a trailer for it below.

Little Town Hero may have come out on Switch already, but the game’s isn’t done entirely. We know that NIS America will be releasing a special physical edition in a few months and there are also plans for an extra feature.

According to NIS America, an Easy Mode is on the way. This will decrease the attack and defense of enemy Dazzits in addition to less frequent Special Effects from enemies.

We’ll likely be seeing Easy Mode when the physical Little Town Hero: Big Idea Edition drops in June.
