[Review] Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom
Posted on 2 years ago by Dawn in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release Date: November 4, 2022
Developer: Marvelous
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Over the last few years, life and farm sims have been steadily growing in popularity and, with critically acclaimed titles such as Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing: New Horizons also on Switch, standing out amongst the crowd is a difficult thing to do. If there is any franchise equipped to do this in modern times, however, it would be Story of Seasons – one of the oldest and largest farm sim series that has been around since the SNES, and has seen several installments as well as spin-offs such as Rune Factory over its lifetime. Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is another such offshoot, taking the traditional Story of Seasons gameplay and blending it with the world of Doraemon, which is an extremely iconic franchise in Japan. But is this a match made in heaven?
[Let’s Talk] The Game Awards 2022 hopes and dreams
Posted on 2 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Let's Talk | 0 comments
The Game Awards are just under two weeks away, so we wanted to host a discussion topic talking about hopes and dreams.
The Game Awards has become one of the major events of the year alongside E3, Gamescom, and the Tokyo Game Show for news and announcements. Nintendo itself has had many memorable moments. The Game Awards hosted the first real footage of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, revealed Joker for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more. However, we can’t always count on announcements from the Big N given how the company was a no show in 2021 and 2015. Still, even if Nintendo is absent, we can usually count on third-party news – last year, for example, included the announcement of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, the first trailer for Sonic Frontiers, and more.
With all of that said, what are you hoping for when it comes to The Game Awards 2022? Are there any Nintendo games or third-party titles you’re hoping will make an appearance? What’s your choice for Game of the Year (see all of the nominees here)? Let us know in the comments.

Splatoon 3 best weapons guide
Posted on 2 years ago by Nicolas in Guides, Switch | 0 comments
The arsenal of weapons available in Splatoon 3 is varied and complex, which can make it difficult to pick one weapon to focus on, but we’ve put together a guide detailing twenty of the very best to make that choice easier. We also have brief descriptions of each weapon to explain what makes them so great.
Of note, this guide will mostly cover weapons from the perspective of Anarchy Battles, the game’s ranked mode and the one used in competitive play. Furthermore, it should be noted that every weapon in Splatoon 3 is viable to some degree, assuming you aren’t playing in a highly competitive setting. The weapons detailed in this guide are simply the ones that will have the easiest time achieving good results if used well.

[Review] Sonic Frontiers
Posted on 2 years ago by Nicholas Serpa in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release Date: November 8, 2022
Developer: Sonic Team
Publisher: SEGA
How can a game that is so messy, so bloated, and so technically inadequate be so much fun? That is the question that I’ve been wrestling with throughout my playthrough of Sonic Frontiers, SEGA’s latest attempt (of which there have been many) to try and revitalize the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and introduce the Blue Blur to both new and lapsed fans. It’s Sonic’s first true open world (or open zone) game, and with that comes a lot of interesting ideas to attempt to reinvent the structure of what a Sonic game can be. But while Frontiers can be a blast at times, it also constantly gets in its own way at almost every turn, hindered by poor visual performance, bloated mechanics and bland world design that lacks a unique identity.
