Nintendo just uploaded a new, 7-minute trailer for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The Japanese video is posted below.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia makes use of amiibo in various ways. When scanning Fire Emblem figures from the Smash Bros. line, an Illusory Hero of that character will be summoned in battle, allowing players to seek assistance from spectral visages.

Over on its Twitter account, Nintendo UK gave a first look at Robin and Roy in action. Players will be able to use these figures and most of the rest at launch, but Corrin still hasn’t been released.

The Japanese Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account is currently holding a quiz competition. Each day, they pose a question about Fire Emblem with four possible answers, and if most people choose the correct answer, rewards will be delivered to all Fire Emblem Heroes players. Yesterday, the quiz wrapped up its “Hard” round of questions and all were answered correctly, which means that everyone will receive at least five orbs and 2,500 Hero Feathers on April 7th. Even better rewards are possible if people answer the “Lunatic” round of questions, which start today.

The Japanese Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter account has detailed some of the changes and updates soon coming to the game, and Reddit user Van24 has kindly translated them.

First of all, you will be able to adjust the starting positions of your units at the beginning of each battle. As long as you haven’t taken the first action, you can swap them around as often as you wish.

Next, some adjustments will be made to the experience earned by characters between 1-star and 4-star rarity. Specifically, the lower the star rank of a unit, the more experience they will earn fighting lower level enemies.

Finally, the maximum amount of stamina will be increased from 50 to 99. Orbs and Stamina Potions will then also refill 99 stamina.

These changes will go live with an update that will be available sometime in April.

8-4 is teaming up with Nintendo once again. This time around, the two companies are collaborating on the localization of Fire Emblem Echoes.

John Ricciardi from 8-4 told one fan on Twitter recently:

8-4 last worked on Fire Emblem for Fire Emblem Awakening’s western release. Prior to that, the team also handled Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on DS.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Fire Emblem Heroes’ new Grand Hero Battle with King Michalis was added in earlier today. Footage showing the latest event can be found below.

The Grand Hero Battle against Michalis is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes, as well as a new Summoning Focus, Battling Michalis. Winning the challenging Grand Hero Battle will unlock Michalis for your army, with 3 and 4 star versions available for the different difficulties. The Focus will give a higher chance of rolling 5-star versions of Eliwood, Minerva, Gordin, and Selena. Both of these will run until March 28.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Fire Emblem Heroes has added a new series of Quests, the Lunatic Challenge Special Quests. These will run until April 7, and they challenge players to beat certain story missions (namely each mission from Chapters 1, 5, and 9) on the Lunatic difficulty with every teammate surviving and specific types of Heroes on their team. The challenges for Chapters 1 and 5 each provide 1 Orb, and the challenges for Chapter 9 provide 2 Orbs each, allowing players to earn up to 20 extra Orbs.

Also, the prizes for the Michalis preview event are now being distributed, providing 10 Orbs, 5,000 Hero Feathers, and 10 Stamina Potions to players for logging in.

The game also requires a small .1 MB data download.

Update: Bumped to the top. We have new screenshots as well that have been added to the gallery.
