Monster Hunter Rise has been a long time coming. With the continued success of the series on 3DS and the immediate, roaring success of Switch as a handheld and home console hybrid both in Japan and around the globe, a new entry in the series early in the console’s life cycle seemed like a given. While the system did receive an enhanced port of Monster Hunter Generations awhile back, the original Monster Hunter so many expected eluded the system for a number of years. Now finally, four years later, Monster Hunter Rise is set to deliver on those expectations.

Monster Hunter Rise Split Pad Pro

A couple of weeks ago, HORI announced a new Split Pad Pro controller for Switch based on Monster Hunter Rise. There was only news about a Japanese release at the time, but it’s now confirmed for the west as well.

A listing for the Monster Hunter Rise Split Pad Pro has popped up on Amazon. According to the retailer, it’s due out on April 26.

Capcom is bringing Monster Hunter Rise themed filters to Japanese TikTok in a new event. This event will start on March 26, 2021 and it is a video submission contest for people using the Monster Hunter Rise filters. The best submissions will receive special prizes which can be seen below (there will be 10 winners). 

Capcom has released a new version of its Monster Hunter Rise demo (version 1.0.2). This update adds on to the demo originally released for the game in January by giving players a new quest to hunt the monster Magnamalo. 

New players that don’t already have the demo on their Switch can download the second version directly from the eShop with this quest included. But players that already have the first version on their Switches can now download the update. The quests in this version can be played 30 times before the demo becomes unplayable.

The full version of Monster Hunter Rise is scheduled to release on Switch on March 26, 2021.
